Published

For many professional golfers, a new year means a new contract, and that’s the case for three notable professional golfers who are now signed to Cleveland-Srixon for 2017.

  • J.J. Spaun, formerly a Nike equipment staffer, is a PGA Tour player who graduated from the Web.com Tour last year and won the 2016 Web.com News Sentinel Open.
  • Daniel McCarthy was the leading money on the MacKenzie Tour in 2016 and is now a Web.com Tour pro.
  • Joel Salter, who splits time between the European Tour and the Challenge Tour.

Hero World Challenge - Round Two

Solidifying its stable of golfers for 2017, Srixon has also re-signed 2008 and 2016 Team USA Ryder Cup member J.B. Holmes, Shane Lowry, Soren Kjeldsen, Rod Pampling, Minjee Lee and Will Wilcox.

According to the company, each of the new and re-signed players “will play a Srixon Z-STAR Series golf ball and Cleveland Golf RTX Series wedges, in addition to using a Srixon staff bag.”

They would if they were good enough, there are not

Their irons are top, quality, the woods are poor enough, same with Mizuno…

The woods are fine. Why would a OEM with SRIXONS caliber make outstanding irons and sub par woods? That is a poor business model and not one SRIXON is building a future on.

It would also be nice to see if SOMEONE on their staff would play the new woods – not just the headcovers to hide their TM clubs..

Ok, but maybe one of their staffers that people have actually heard of – like Hideki, Keegan, or GMac.

          Hideki – Srixon ZR-30 Driver
          Keegan – Z745 Driver
G-Mac – Not the driver but Z745 Wood

as per WITB on this site anyways.

You did a lot of research for nothing. Turn on the TV, look at Hideki’s driver, not his headcover.

I’m saying he’s still wrong. Hideki does not play a Srixon driver. Maybe the WITB thread says so, but if you look at your TV of him in Hawaii, you’ll see he’s not.

                  I’ll do that.

The event has been around since 1922, making it one of the oldest on the PGA Tour calendar. Over the years, it’s been held at a variety of courses across the Lone Star State, but it’s found its home at TPC San Antonio in recent years. Some of the biggest names in golf have taken home the title here, including Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, and Ben Crenshaw.

GolfWRX has its usual assortment of general galleries, WITBs and special pull-out albums. As always, we’ll continue to update the links below as more photos come in from TPC San Antonio.
