Anyone have an explanation why so many pros play x100 in irons and s400 in wedges?? What’s the theory in the s400 in the wedges?

The slightly softer tip creates a little more spin, added weight adds control.
Titleist/Vokey in particular is big on slightly softer and/or heavy shafts in clubs that are used mostly for less-than-full shots, like sand and lob wedges.
