Spotted: New PXG putters with milled inserts and TPE technology

Published

on

We spotted new putters from Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) on the putting green of the Quicken Loans National on Tuesday at Congressional Country Club.

According to John Wall of the PGA Tour, there are 11 new models, each with milled inserts and the company’s familiar thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) technology. The putters are made from 303 stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, and have a 304 stainless steel face insert with a hollow cavity filled with 0.150 inches of TPE sitting behind it (the Gunboat mallet has a core made of TPE that runs the “length of the head”).

Check out photos of the new models below, and read what GolfWRX members are saying here.

I just bought a GUNBOAT putter and love it. It has a great feel off the face when I putter.

I still don’t see the appeal of those obnoxious screws……I suppose it’s a signature ???

It is nice the 2% have another nice toy to spend their money on. What is it in 2017 now about 10% your ability and 90% the tools you use? Or is it the same as 1910 99% your ability 1% the tools you use…

I like the blade, the Anser style, the center shaft, and the mallet w the line over the top. I love the screws and the great machined finish. I wonder if there is a fitting studio where I can get fit to get into one of these beauties? Based on PXGs reputation and these pics I bet these perform great in trained hands. Well done.! ????

I really don’t see anything groundbreaking here. Certainly not $500 worth.

Will the price be way over the top as is their irons???

I’m sure they will. Seems they aren’t at all interested in appealing to the regular golfer. I’d be shocked if these putters are less than $500.

Get a license, walk around town, watch interactions. Go to social events and even if it’s awkward jusy say hI to random people, then build up confidencd, throw in some jokes. Rember golf must be your passion, so golf will be your restoring time. Your already on this planet so, why give up, get up and try. You can do it

The Dagger looks interesting and I like the Mustang, but more importantly, I wish I had shares in the company that sells them those screws.

Each screw is handmade by a metal artisan in Sedona. Because, you know, if you attach the word handmade to a putter the world swoons.

just half the world…. the other half seems to think sarcasm and mockery is the way to go. To each their own though.

Coolest thing for sale in the GolfWRX Classifieds (5/8/24): Scotty Cameron Art of Putting Laguna putter

Published

At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.

It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a Scotty Cameron Art of Putting Laguna putter.

From the seller: (@kcsf): “Scotty Cameron Art of Putting Laguna. -I will regret this one selling for sure. It does have one small nick on the face near the toe as shown, otherwise in amazing new condition.  -BOS reconditioned and received last month. Oil can finish as done new by BOS when this putter was released many moons ago. -Head cover is authentic SC and shows age. Velcro is worthless of course, but does stay closed.  -Length is 34.25 inches, original shaft. -Grip is old and needs replacing. I can have my pro do it prior to shipping at an additional cost of the grip only. -$475.”

To check out the full listing in our BST forum, head through the link: Scotty Cameron Art of Putting Laguna putter

Mitsubishi Diamana WB: What you need to know + club build, on-course testing

Published

on

GolfWRX’s Resident Club Junkie, Brian Knudson, was naturally excited to get his hands on Mitsubishi’s new Diamana WB shaft.

In this video, BK gives you a brief overview of the new WB, builds up a driver, and takes it to the course for some testing.

With the rebirth of the iconic Whiteboard profile, Mitsubishi didn’t just re-issue a classic, but rather infused all the company’s latest tech into a new shaft, paying homage to the original with its quintessentially Hawaiian-inspired stylings. A summary of that impressive roster of technology, below.

  • 80-ton Dialead pitch fiber: Positioned in the handle, Dialead is designed to deliver greater ball speed via better energy transfer.
  • Aerospace-grade MR70 carbon fiber adds additional strength, and 46-ton fiber in angle plies in the tip section reduce torque for tighter shot dispersion.
  • Consistent Feel Design: Engineers target minimal variance across shafts (butt OD, weight, and balance point) to make the fitting process easier.
  • Xlink Tech Resin System: Engineers continue to reduce resin content and increase carbon fiber volume for greater feel without sacrificing strength and durability.
