2015 Open Championship Betting Odds

Published

on

In what could be the least surprising news of the week, Jordan Spieth is currently the odds-on favorite to win The Open Championship at St. Andrews — with 5/1 odds of taking home the Claret Jug — according to the sports book site Bovada.

Spieth’s odds surely increased when Rory McIlroy officially withdrew after suffering an ankle injury while playing soccer.

Sitting in the second slot at 11/1 odds is Dustin Johnson, who suffered a painful final hole three-putt at the 2015 U.S. Open to miss out on a playoff with Spieth by one shot.

Coming off a win at the Scottish Open, Rickie Fowler is third with 16/1 odds. Other notable odds include Tiger Woods (25/1), Bubba Watson (33/1) and Phil Mickelson (33/1).

Tom Watson, who is likely playing in his last Open Championship after winning five of them in the past, is going off at 750/1.

British legends Sandy Lyle and Nick Faldo have the worst odds on the board at 2500/1.

Dustin over Rickie ? Maybe true but not on links courses to me.

GolfWRX is on site this week at the Valero Texas Open.

The event has been around since 1922, making it one of the oldest on the PGA Tour calendar. Over the years, it’s been held at a variety of courses across the Lone Star State, but it’s found its home at TPC San Antonio in recent years. Some of the biggest names in golf have taken home the title here, including Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, and Ben Crenshaw.

GolfWRX has its usual assortment of general galleries, WITBs and special pull-out albums. As always, we’ll continue to update the links below as more photos come in from TPC San Antonio.
