Honolulu police arrest man in Allenby case

Published

on

On Wednesday, Honolulu police announced that an arrest was made in connection to the robbery of Robert Allenby.

Patrick Owen Harbison, 32, of an Ala Napuaa street address, was indicted by the Oahu grand jury on three counts of second-degree identity theft, three counts of second-degree attempted theft and one count of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.

Harbison was identified by police sources using Allenby’s credit cards on surveillance videos at various stores in Waikiki. According to the Honolulu Police Department, the man was arrested at the Oahu Community Correctional Center where he was being held on a contempt warrant for an unrelated incident.

He is reportedly being held on $100,000 bail.

Harbison, according to the Honolulu Police Department, has five previous convictions including one felony drug conviction. KITV.com reports that he was most recently convicted of a drug violation on March 20, 2013 when he was sentenced to 133 days in jail and four years probation.

Although Allenby’s original story claimed he was beaten, robbed, kidnapped and left miles away from Amuse Wine Bar in a Waikiki park, Honolulu police say there is no kidnapping investigation.

Allenby was on the island of Oahu for the 2015 Sony Open, where he missed the second-round cut.

  1. Golf anyone?

Please stop posting stories that are not related to golf. This has no impact on the golf community and I’m tired of having to see that picture. This forum is about golf and equipment. If people want to see this stuff they can look at TMZ or the golf channel. We know they’ve beat this one to death there. Just report golf, not social junk.

Lolololol. I got a crack up when you said, “I am tired of having to see that picture.” The mugshot of his mangled face is getting old, yeah…

It’s funny to listen to these people come to the defense of Allenby when they don’t have any facts either. It’s pretty obvious to any reasonable person that Allenby went out and partied, got wasted (either drugs or alcohol, or both), somehow during is blackout his face and head met the ground, he lost his wallet (either dropped it or it was taken while he was out of his senses). Basically, the guy got sh**-faced and lost control of himself and his belongings, and then came up with some elaborate story to make it someone else’s fault. I knew the day after when he did his interview on the golf course that he was full of it. Way too many unnecessary details to be believable. I’d have more respect for the guy if he just came out and said he got wasted and fell down and lost his wallet. This whole story smells like a guy that feels too entitled and tried to lie about his actions. Not saying the guy they arrested didn’t either steal or find his wallet, but I don’t buy the whole kidnapping, mugging, story for a second.

I’m with you. None of his story sounded like anything other than he was out of control, trying to get something from some folks he shouldn’t have been hanging with and they took advantage of him.

I don’t know if he’s married, but if he is, I bet the temperature in the Allenby household is pretty chilly.

Will you please get rid Allenby’s mug off the home page? Tired of looking at it besides what does a drunk story have to do with golf?

the guy was robbed and may or may not have been beaten up. He may have party a little hardy, I don’t know all the facts and they aren’t all in so I wouldn’t be calling him a drunk until you know all the facts. I love the way people pass judgement before the know the real story of what happened.

no lambo, you seem to be passing the judgement before the trial. He was robbed and may or may not have been beaten up. That makes him a drunk? He may or may not have been drugged. Have a clue before you start erroneously challenging other peoples character.

Apparently the guy made Alenby get drunk, go to strip clubs AND miss the cut.

Get off your knees and take off your kneepads, brew. It’s naive to think that the tour isn’t full of boozers and addicts, don’t you think?

What doesn’t this idiot understand about 4 years probation?! He’s been given several chances to be a human being and re-join society. Fail.
