Callaway adds three college standouts to its tour staff

Published

on

Callaway made headlines last week when it was reported that the Carlsbad company inked Lydia Ko to an endorsement deal. And with the likes of Harris English, Henrik Stenson and Matteo Manassero soon to be sporting the chevron, the company continues to make moves.

Yesterday, Callaway announced the addition of three golfers to its roster as it continues to lock up a large quantity of younger players: Thomas Pieters, James Erkenbeck, and Chase Sieffert.

Pieters, a native of Belgium, turned pro after the NCAA Championships. The University of Illinois alum and 2012 NCAA individual champion made it through European Tour Qualifying and has teed it up twice on that tour.

James Erkenbeck, a native Californian, graduated from the University of New Mexico. During his time there, Erkenbeck won the NCAA Columbus Regional and locked up Mountain West Player of the Year and an All-MW selection.

All-ACC selection Chase Seiffert graduated from Florida State University. He won both the Florida Open and the Florida Amateur in 2012. The Panama City, Fla., native helped lead the Seminoles to a ninth place finish in the NCAA Championship Finals in 2012 and an 11th place finish in 2013.

With these signings, CEO Chip Brewer’s company continues to secure talent as Callaway continues to evolve into a younger, hipper, social media-orientated organization at a staff level.

Pieters, Erkenbeck, and Seiffert join a lengthy list of Callaway staffers that currently includes Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Gary Woodland, Chris Kirk, Patrick Reed, Tommy Gainey, Fredrik Jacobson, Luke List, Stuart Appleby, Andres Gonzales, Colt Knost, Ryo Ishikawa, Sang-Moon Bae, Bobby Gates, Brian Stuard and James Hahn.

Callaway is really making moves! I play mostly Callaway, and happy to see a smaller golf-only company compete against some of the giants out there.
