Sergio Garcia returned to winner’s circle at the Thailand Golf Championship after a tumultuous year. And his girlfriend carried his bag—an interesting story on several fronts. El Nino, however, isn’t on El Twitter, so we don’t have any reaction from the golfer there. Elsewhere, Matt Kuchar and Harris English dominated at the Franklin Templeton Shootout, and Stewart and Connor Cink won the Father/Son Challenge.

It’s the week before Christmas. And while there wasn’t a great deal of seasonal cheer reflected in the social media accounts of the world’s best golfers this past week, there was a wealth of other entertaining <140 character utterances and photos.

So let’s get to them.

Up first, golfer Shasta Averyhardt. The Jackson State University alum related the following on Twitter. It’s a scene we’ve all been bit players in (hopefully not starring in): someone flouts the “X items or less” sign in plain sight. I’ll give Shasta a pass on the casual disregard for the appropriate spelling of “know,” assuming she was up against the character limit. Also, the signs should read “or fewer” as you use “fewer” with count nouns, but that’s neither here nor there.

Scott Langley gave voice to another common supermarket sensation in this tweet: Anxiety about how other customers are perceiving you purchases.

The eternally fan-engaging (via social media, at least) Bubba Watson is reprising the #bubbaclaus business from past years. Below is the confectionary beauty that won the winner of the golfer’s cookie contest. Staying on the positive side of the ledger, we’ll say “A for effort, Ameila Paquette!”

What’s the best thing about this tweet from Billy Horschel? Is it the fact that he’s plugging a product? The fact that he’s prominently displaying both a hundred dollar bill and his American Express Black Card? No! The best thing about this tweet is the revelation that Billy previously secured those items with a hair tie.

Adoptive Chicagoan Luke Donald got to hit the ice at the Chicago Blackhawks game. He tweeted the following photo of himself—replete with a custom Blackhawks jersey—prior to making his way onto the rink. No word on how Brent Seabrook, who presently sports No. 7 for the ‘Hawks’ felt about seeing the golfer sporting his digit.

John Peterson’s hair has been getting long. Apparently this was the tipping point.

On the subject of things changing in Peterson’s world, it looks like the LSU alum is switching irons. Another set of blades bites the dust.

Continuing the theme of golfers relaying common unpleasant situations: Cheyenne Woods experienced the iPhone horror of all horrors: the cracked screen. Hurts real bad indeed.

Regarding this photo Amanda Blumenherst tweeted, I have to agree with Nate. Probably OK on razors too…

Finally, a tremendously disappointing golf fans for the single male golfers of the world: Paula Creamer is engaged. Further, her boyfriend proposed in fairly dramatic fashion, as you can see.
