PGA Tour teams up with the Jacksonville Jaguars for a halftime promotion

Published

on

The PGA Tour and the Jacksonville Jaguars announced a unique halftime show that will collaborate PGA Tour players and America’s most popular sport.

The show will see the Jaguars’ mascot, Jaxson de Ville, and a Tour player take part in a closest-to-the-pin contest from the sky patio in the south end zone to an island green at midfield — a shot that will play approximately 125 yards. The hole has been designed to mimic the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course, home of The Players Championship that is hosted at the Tour’s headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, located just outside of Jacksonville.

Like most extracurricular events that involve the Tour, charities are involved. If the Tour player wins, the Jaguars Foundation will donate $10,000 to the player’s charity while if Jaxson de Ville knocks it inside the pro, the Jaguars will donate $1,000 to the player’s charity and each fan in the stands will receive a free order of Papa John’s cheese sticks.

To add even more to the already crowded table, if either the player or Jaxson de Ville notch a hole in one, the Jaguars will award $1 million to one fan in the crowd. Each game, Papa John’s will also select one Papa John’s rewards member to stand alongside Jaxson and the PGA Tour player to take his or her shot at a hole in one and $1 million.

PGA Tour rookie David Ligmerth will be the first Tour player to try his hand against Jaxson de Ville this Sunday as the Jaguars play host to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The guy dressed as a Jaguar is a really good golfer and is always hitting the green at 17 in contest they have out there. He even shows up during the TPC and does it during the practice rounds. Throw in a little luck and it is cheese sticks for everybody either way charity wins
