KBS updates shaft fitting website

Published

on

As a club professional, one of the most common questions I get asked by my members (besides “Is it gonna rain today?”) is, “Which shaft is right for me?”

Without knowing the player’s game and swing, it can often be a difficult question to answer. But shaft maker KBS has made it quicker and easier for recreational golfers to get a shaft recommendation from the comfort of their home.

KBS is quickly becoming a household name among equipment manufacturers. Its shafts were used by the first three major championship winners in 2013: Adam ScottJustin Rose and Phil Mickelson (Click their names to see all the clubs in their bags).

KBS’ shaft fitting site, updated Friday to include its new C Taper Lite shafts and provide better functionality, surveys the golfer on multiple aspects of their swing and golf game including six iron distance, driver swing speed, trajectory preferences, weighting preferences and spin preferences. Once you have answered all the questions, the system makes three different shaft recommendations: irons, hybrids and wedges.

KBS also recognizes that club fittings are more successful with the assistance of a PGA fitting professional, so they give the golfer the nearest KBS shaft fitters to their location.

Run your numbers today and see what KBS Shafts would work best for you, then go out to your local KBS fitting center and see the difference that KBS shafts can make in your game.

I am a 57 year old man. I’ve been a plus 2 handicap since I was in my late 20’s until age 54. I am still a 3-4 handicap. I live north of Dallas, TX about 45-50 miles. I am extremely interested in a set of custom KBS SHAFTS. My wedges are either Vokey Tour or I order the exact wedge & grind through Vokey.com. I am interested in a lighter custom shaft for my PW, 54* & 60*. Where can I go to get fit, properly? My zip code is 75495. I want the very best fitter. I WILL DRIVE INTO DALLAS, if necessary. Thanks, Hugh Veale CELL PHONE # is 903.818.5088. Feel free to call me 24/7 !!!

What’s the perfect mini-driver/shaft combo? – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Mini-Drivers and accompanying shafts. WRXer ‘JamesFisher1990’ is about to purchase a BRNR Mini and is torn on what shaft weight to use, and our members have been sharing their thoughts and set ups in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • PARETO: “New BRNR at 13.5. Took it over to TXG (Club Champ but TXG will always rule) in Calgary for a fit. Took the head down to 12, stuck in a Graphite Design AD at 3 wood length and 60g. Presto- numbers that rivaled my G430Max but with waaaaay tighter dispersion. Win.”
  • driveandputtmachine: “Still playing a MIni 300.  The head was only 208, so I ordered a heavier weight and play it at 3 wood length.  I am playing a Ventus Red 70.   I play 70 grams in my fairways.  I use it mainly to hit draws off the tee.  When I combine me, a driver, and trying to hit a draw it does not work out well most of the time.  So the MIni is for that. As an aside, I have not hit the newest BRNR, but the previous model wasn’t great off the deck.  The 300 Mini is very good off the deck.”
  • JAM01: “Ok, just put the BRNR in the bag along side a QI10 max and a QI10 3 wood. A load of top end redundancy. But, I have several holes at my two home courses where the flight and accuracy of the mini driver helps immensely. Mine is stock Proforce 65 at 13.5, I could see a heavier shaft, but to normal flex, as a nice alternative.”
