Bubba Watson demeaning his caddy
Posted By GolfWRX member: robbie91
So, the tee shot he hit sounded heavy to me but what do I know. He seemed upset about the yardage the caddy gave him and went to the drop zone. I get the whole “never blame it on yourself thing” so I figured whatever the caddy is getting some crap. Then he goes to the drop zone and the caddy gives him the yardage. He hits it over the green and starts going at the caddy again. I highly highly doubt the caddy got the number from the drop zone wrong since its something he would laser early in the week and he was standing there with the pin sheet in his hand. Even Feherty said, “you hit it bud”.
Personally, I found it tremendously annoying listening to Bubba b**** and complain at his poor caddy because he hit a bad shot. Anyone else have any thoughts..

Most forgiving players irons? – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, our members have been discussing players irons. WRXer ‘NorthTXGolf’ is on the hunt for some new irons but is putting a priority on forgiveness, and has reached out to fellow members who have been sharing their thoughts and advice on the subject in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Sam217: “i230 has got to be one of the most forgiving players irons available. Cobra King Tour another. Don’t sleep on the New Level 480 DB coming out soon.”
- RangeBaller: “ZX5/ZX7 and i230 should definitely be in your testing pool.”
- YAMS49: “Another I210 homie here… Very highly recommended if you want/need spin and a consistent yardage.”
- golf-RN: “I second the Cobra King Tour irons. I am not the greatest ballstriker by any stretch of the imagination and I find the King Tours very forgiving. Toe strikes might lose 5 or 6 yards with no directional loss. You definitely feel the miss though lol but mishits from the center aren’t punished too hard regarding distance.”

What’s the perfect mini-driver/shaft combo? – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, our members have been discussing Mini-Drivers and accompanying shafts. WRXer ‘JamesFisher1990’ is about to purchase a BRNR Mini and is torn on what shaft weight to use, and our members have been sharing their thoughts and set ups in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- PARETO: “New BRNR at 13.5. Took it over to TXG (Club Champ but TXG will always rule) in Calgary for a fit. Took the head down to 12, stuck in a Graphite Design AD at 3 wood length and 60g. Presto- numbers that rivaled my G430Max but with waaaaay tighter dispersion. Win.”
- driveandputtmachine: “Still playing a MIni 300. The head was only 208, so I ordered a heavier weight and play it at 3 wood length. I am playing a Ventus Red 70. I play 70 grams in my fairways. I use it mainly to hit draws off the tee. When I combine me, a driver, and trying to hit a draw it does not work out well most of the time. So the MIni is for that. As an aside, I have not hit the newest BRNR, but the previous model wasn’t great off the deck. The 300 Mini is very good off the deck.”
- JAM01: “Ok, just put the BRNR in the bag along side a QI10 max and a QI10 3 wood. A load of top end redundancy. But, I have several holes at my two home courses where the flight and accuracy of the mini driver helps immensely. Mine is stock Proforce 65 at 13.5, I could see a heavier shaft, but to normal flex, as a nice alternative.”

Why Ludvig Aberg is my new favorite player – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, our members have been discussing one of the new sensations in the world of golf – Ludvig Aberg. The 24-year-old finished solo second at the Masters a couple of weeks ago, and gained many plaudits, including from several WRXers.
- RELATED: ‘There were a number of red flags’ – Ludvig Aberg reveals why he turned down multiple LIV offers
One member, RoyalMustang, took to the forums to explain why Aberg is now their favorite player, saying:
“I loved the way the Ludvig was out there, having a great time, not taking himself or the situation too seriously. Even after the double at 11, he was like “well, that’s golf!” Loose and relaxed: that’s the way to play. It’s obvious he loves what he’s doing, he loves the big moments, and he loves being a part of it all.
Arnold Palmer was viewed that way. Just like Brooks Robinson was forever viewed as not just a great baseball player, but a great human being and friend to Baltimore.”
And our members have been reacting and sharing their positive takes on the young Swede.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- redfirebird08: “Ludvig has a great attitude, a great smile, and a great golf swing.”
- otto6457: “I’m very lucky to have talked with Ludde several times at the Rawls Course at Texas Tech. He’s a truly nice guy and very friendly. Always said hello when we passed each other in the club house and was always smiling. Watching him hit balls on the range was a joy. He has “that sound” and trajectory to die for. There were many times he was out on the range in 30+ mph winds just hitting the most beautiful shots that just seemed to ignore the wind. World class ball striker. And yes……..I am a fan boy.”
- konklifer: “I like him. In an era of endless waggles and laboring, his swing and pace of play are a joy to watch.

Golf’s a wonderful game, unfortunately I don’t get as much time to play as I used to. Still find plenty of time to watch it though! – Siordia

So it’s clear now right? Your headline kind of jumped the gun there, actually it’s completely wrong. Bubba wanted to hit the 8 Ted convinced him to hit the 9. Ted also made that very clear for all you Bubba haters. Believe me when you lose $300-500,000 trusting your partners decision your going to give him some sh@# when he’s wrong and sometimes a bonus when he’s right. This is very common on tour from what I understand.

The issue is really between Bubba and his Caddy.

Bubba, like pretty much all of us, is good guy and means well– but unfortunately he’s “a not so smart” and has proven he’s not ready for stardom time and time again. His social-media addiction and the drawn-out, emotional Masters win elevated him to a point of admiration/celebration that was just inappropriate for his golf prowess. I believe he’s THE most overrated golfer in the world– he also has become an unfortunate poster child for “New American Golf:” simple-minded, outspokenly-pious, and lacking understanding and respect for the international culture and appeal of Golf. His French Open comments were really ridiculous but his over-the-top complaining at Olympic Club, in my backyard, caused me to stop rooting for Bubs. I hope PING picks up a new poster-child and Bubba settles in with Cobra-Puma-Ricky with his long-tom driver grips set 10 degrees open.

Not surprised. He has some emotion control issues on the course. Still, I like the guy.

I watched Bubba react to fan’s comment at Memorial a couple years ago and have had a low opinion of him ever since. On Saturday of this tournament he stopped during his downswing and reacted to someone in the crowd (Gary McCord, who was announcing at the time, said he heard nothing). Now this with his caddy? Seems like he would be a cool guy off the course, with Golf Boys and such. Must be a head case.
