Today from the Forums: “Great golf shoes under $200”

Published

on

Today from the Forums shines the spotlight on golf shoes priced under $200. In this category, Adidas Golf’s Tech Response 2.0 golf shoes have mightily impressed WRXer tsecor, who says:

“Not only are these very light on the feet but are very stable for such a light platform. They wrapped around your feet for a very nice feel At $70; they seem like a steal. I’m hoping these last at least three seasons, and I’m done spending over $200 for golf shoes. It’s been seven years since I bought a pair because the last 360s i bought lasted quite a while. The technology of the newer shoes is ridiculous nowadays.”

Tsecor asks WRXers whether they have also found a golf shoe priced under $200 that was a great fit for them and our members have been having their say in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Power fade: “Got two pairs of True linkswear shoes in their mystery box black Friday sale. Strongly suggest if you find yourself in need of new shoes come November. $75 a piece for zero drop shoes is about as good as it gets.”
  • Togatown22: “OP; nice pickup, I love getting a deal on golf shoes. Now that you know your size in Adidas models, make sure you check the off-season sale sites like Carlsgolfland, budgetgolf, TGW, ETC, and even the Adidas site for great deals. I’ve gotten multiple pairs of Tour360’s for less than $100. I definitely saw the 360XT’s (last years colors) for around $125 a few different times this winter. My favorite deals are the ones where I’ve been able to grab a company’s top line/tour shoe for around $100. sometimes as low as $65!”
  • Markrip: “I’ve never spent more than $40 on a pair of shoes. I just get last years off the discount rack at Dick’s or somewhere else.”

I’m finding it hard to find good shoes with Boa laces. That’s really disappointing. I wanted to replace a pair of Tour360s and could only get lace-up, including from Adidas themselves.

Ebay is your friend. If you are going to a store and paying retail for the latest model year then you are a sucker. 60 bucks can get you a great pair of shoes that were selling for like 150 bucks last year.

Coolest thing for sale in the GolfWRX Classifieds (5/13/24): Full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs

Published

on

At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.

It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs.

From the seller: (@CaymanS): “During the year of recovery from leg surgery that never quite healed, I was bored.  One thing led to another, and I ended up gradually building/acquiring the individual pieces to complete a set of “Tiger Slam” clubs.  They are what Tiger played to win 4 consecutive majors, which nobody has ever done.  This is not an exact replica of course, but something close that fit me to play a few times per year and experience what Tiger did.  But my bad leg, 4 shoulder tears, and age prevents me from the ball-striking needed to enjoy these to their fullest.  They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since the driver and fairway shafts are regular flex and most players good enough to play these will need to change them, but it’s not a perfect world.  I am not a historian on this stuff, but my research indicates these are the same models Tiger used, with slightly different specs to fit me.

Full set $1,600, or…

…a donation for a Pro Kids fundraiser, or…

Driver: $70

Fairway: $250

Irons: $1,100

Wedges: $100

Putter: $350″

This is the most impressive current listing from the GolfWRX BST, and if you are curious about the rules to participate in the BST Forum you can check them out here: GolfWRX BST Rules
