GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day: “Titleist 2019 CNCPT irons?”

Today’s GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day was started by none other than the great night putter himself, MitchCumstein. The thread concerns a heretofore unseen Titleist iron, which you can see in the featured image above.

Here are a few comments from GolfWRX Members about this intriguing iron, but check out all of the comments in the link below:

  • tbone18 says, “very interesting…another players distance iron?”
  • MattyO1984 says, “Managed to get a hit of the C16’s and they were very impressive, it will be interesting to see what these are like.”
  • Mbiden2 says, “Pretty cool looking. Almost looks borderline P790ish. Hopefully we will get to see the new so called TM 760s soon. A side by side with these would be cool.”

Check out the full forum thread here for more discussion.

Here’s what I don’t understand about Dr. Ford’s explanation of her 36 years of angst buried into her unconscious mind and ruining her life. She is a Doctor of Psychology and couldn’t determine her psychological hangups, yet she had a career teaching others with her psychological bias. She need help fast… or will vengeance sate her hatred?!!

Guess this might be a concept of the new 720CB? Undergoing a greater change than we are used to…

Great tip. I will keep this in mind. This might have saved me a lot of frustration had I known this beforehand. Thanks for sharing

I bet when half you guys see these in another bag you’ll look twice and ask if you give a try.

I won’t look twice, I’ll just grab it right out of the bag to try it

It is funny how it is always better, yet nothing changes other than the look. Lofts are stronger and distance is longer and that is it. Amazing

I want to see how these stack up against the P790’s. My only gripe about them is that sometimes the ball comes off a little too hot. Slowly working blades into my low irons for better distance control.

I like them. I hate plastic colorful badges glued to the cavity of iron heads. This looks super easy to clean. Simple looks. I’m a fan.

If they perform, it’s a win IMO. That said, I LOVE my 8 year old set and will never switch until they are worn down to nubs.

Wish I kept my old MP-9’s. Tiger’s “new” irons look similar. Ping even has one that looks like an MP-9….Back to the future??

Thats ugly. Even with that Titleist logo, it looks worse than clubs in a box set from walmart.

Not sure those are winning for my in the looks department. Hapoy with the AP3 and how those look. Another hollow construction but this is pushing the limits

Forum Thread of the Day: “Why are people walking away from the game?”

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from dedicated2journey, who shared with fellow GolfWRX members his reasons for why some people are walking away from the game. The entire thread is a fascinating read, which developed into a broad debate about the growth of the sport, with plenty of excellent arguments and counter-arguments made. If you have some free time over the weekend, you’ll want to get stuck into this discussion.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire debate and have your say at the link below.

  • mark174ace: “I will also say taking lessons from a good teacher who will give you good swing habits can pay dividends for a long, long time. People would spend far less on clubs if they spent more money on lessons and understood their own swing. Their scores would improve, and their mishits would not be as bad so there would be no b.s. psychological need for a new club that will make your problems go away.”
  • DDG61: “Am I one of the few that cares very little about the overall “growth” of the game? Other than my seven-year-old daughter I couldn’t care less how many people are exposed to, interested in or committed to golf. Presuming the Tiger era was the large growth what difference does it make if we go back to pre Tiger levels? The game will still be around, ready for all those willing and able.”
  • Swisstrader98: “New generation of youth view golf and golfers as stodgy and rigid. Proper dress codes, no music allowed on most courses, having to wear polo collared shirts, a rulebook that even the pros can’t quite decipher and on and on. If we don’t change or at least greatly simplify the rules and make golf exciting or cool, we will continue to see less interest.”
  • Lancj1: “I honestly think we need to introduce the availability of playing 3, 4, 5, 9 holes. I’m a club member and live very close to my course. I have a lot of fun in summer taking a carry bag out and playing “my” 5 hole loop. To enable me to do that I have to be a full member on 7-day membership. If my son comes for a walk with me, he’s not allowed to hit a ball.”
  • wrmiller: “I wouldn’t say golf is dying. More like it is on a diet and needs to lose a few pounds.”

Forum Thread of the Day: “Oldest club that you game?”

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from uwhockey14, who asks fellow GolfWRX members for the oldest club that they still use out on the course. Despite the latest technologies continually leading to new and improved equipment, this thread shows that for many of our members, there will always be a place in the bag for that certain trusty older club.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • leo the lion: “Odyssey Dual Force 56 degree wedge which is about 20 years old. These wedges have what I believe are called Stronomic inserts in the face. The inserts are made of a very hard material and still look new. I have not found a wedge that gives more spin and control than these wedges. Ping Eye and ISI’s come close but the Dual Forces can almost stop on a dime. I also have a 52 degree that I will use together with the 56 on shorter courses.”
  • NRJyzr: “Playing Golden Ram Tour Grinds right now, they’re approximately 38 years old.”
  • Moonlightgrm: “My Ping ISI irons are 18-years old. Nothing can move them out of my bag. Easy to hit and very forgiving. I tried a set of Mizuno JPX900 forged this year, and they lasted exactly 3-rounds.”
  • sneaky_pete: “18* Mizuno Fli Hi II Driving Iron from around 2006/2007.  This will never leave the bag! Also still rocking my Adams Speedline Super S 3 wood from 2012.”
  • dpb5031: “Arnold Palmer AP30r blade putter – ~50 years old. Kasco K2K #33 (sorta between a 2 hybrid & 5 wood) – 18 years old.”

Forum Thread of the Day: “Your golf stereotype?”

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from Twism86, who asks fellow GolfWRX members what their golfing stereotype is. Whether it’s positive or negative habits that have come to define them out on the golf course, our members don’t hold back in this thread, and it makes for a very entertaining read.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and let us know your golfing stereotype at the link below.

  • leopoldstoch: “I’m the know it all, reads too much about golf, watches too many videos, always looking at new clubs, and can’t break 90.”
  • Lijka: “I’m a swing tinkerer. For whatever reason, I quickly lose feeling in my swing until it feels like I’m just waving my arms at the ball so I find myself constantly chasing a new swing feeling. Combine that with struggling with sh*nks, and I end up trying to redo my swing every week.”
  • DavyC: “Hacker. Impatient/fast golfer (except when there is a ball I can go get). Hacker. And hacker.”
  • rawdog: “I always approached the game like Bryson, before I even knew who he was. That’s why I enjoy rooting for him. I can’t win by pure athleticism, so I enjoy using my brain to give myself every advantage I can. For that reason, my friends all seem to bring their swing or equipment questions to me. I can answer the equipment ones with physics, but I am always hesitant to give swing advice!”
  • Twism86: “I’m the ball hunter. I can’t help but drive along the woods and water hazards searching for a few free Pro Vs or any other premium ball. If I’m playing alone I can get distracted for some time… Ill collect some good looking cheap balls too and just leave them in the cart, or my less picky golf buddies will take them. That or save them to do some skipping at a pond (if the course has one).”
