GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day: “Titleist 2019 CNCPT irons?”

Published

on

Today’s GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day was started by none other than the great night putter himself, MitchCumstein. The thread concerns a heretofore unseen Titleist iron, which you can see in the featured image above.

Here are a few comments from GolfWRX Members about this intriguing iron, but check out all of the comments in the link below:

  • tbone18 says, “very interesting…another players distance iron?”
  • MattyO1984 says, “Managed to get a hit of the C16’s and they were very impressive, it will be interesting to see what these are like.”
  • Mbiden2 says, “Pretty cool looking. Almost looks borderline P790ish. Hopefully we will get to see the new so called TM 760s soon. A side by side with these would be cool.”

Check out the full forum thread here for more discussion.

Here’s what I don’t understand about Dr. Ford’s explanation of her 36 years of angst buried into her unconscious mind and ruining her life. She is a Doctor of Psychology and couldn’t determine her psychological hangups, yet she had a career teaching others with her psychological bias. She need help fast… or will vengeance sate her hatred?!!

Guess this might be a concept of the new 720CB? Undergoing a greater change than we are used to…

Great tip. I will keep this in mind. This might have saved me a lot of frustration had I known this beforehand. Thanks for sharing

I won’t look twice, I’ll just grab it right out of the bag to try it

It is funny how it is always better, yet nothing changes other than the look. Lofts are stronger and distance is longer and that is it. Amazing

I want to see how these stack up against the P790’s. My only gripe about them is that sometimes the ball comes off a little too hot. Slowly working blades into my low irons for better distance control.

I like them. I hate plastic colorful badges glued to the cavity of iron heads. This looks super easy to clean. Simple looks. I’m a fan.

If they perform, it’s a win IMO. That said, I LOVE my 8 year old set and will never switch until they are worn down to nubs.

Wish I kept my old MP-9’s. Tiger’s “new” irons look similar. Ping even has one that looks like an MP-9….Back to the future??

Thats ugly. Even with that Titleist logo, it looks worse than clubs in a box set from walmart.

Not sure those are winning for my in the looks department. Hapoy with the AP3 and how those look. Another hollow construction but this is pushing the limits

Forum Thread of the Day: “Ball in the thick rough – what club to use?”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from jjfcpa who asks fellow members what their preferred choice of club is when their ball is in thick rough. A variety of irons and hybrids are mentioned by our members who delve into the discussion of course management.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • RainShadow: “For me, that sot would be a 7 iron, open the face a little and play a runner up to the front of the green. Open face will help a bit with getting stuck in the grass.”
  • golfgirlrobin: “Club choice depends on whether you’re willing to accept a bogey or whether you insist on making double.”
  • ChipNRun: “I would try a hinge and hold action. Take a half swing with plenty of hinge action and punch down on the ball with limited follow-through. Use the big muscles of the shoulders – you don’t want to hurt yourself trying to muscle it. Probably choose something between a PW and a 7i. You’ll need to hold firmly with L hand, so the grass doesn’t wrap around the hosel and deloft the club face.”
  • kcd38: “If it is 200 plus from the green and a decent lie, hybrid. If it is less than 200 from the green and sunk down a little, I usually go with my 8 iron and play the face slightly open knowing the grass will grab the hosel and shut the face. Definitely need some speed to get out of the thick stuff.”

Forum Thread of the Day: “Pat Perez loses his head on the range”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from Yanki01 who showcased a bizarre incident on the range at Bethpage Black. Hitting a drive, Pat Perez sees his driver head fly off, and our members have been discussing the incident as well as Perez’ priceless reaction.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • MidWestGolfBum: “The look of pure confusion from PP made that all the better. Just looks back with a “well, now what” type expression.”
  • dirt nasty: “Its more fun when you have to get the entire range to stop hitting balls so you can go fetch it.”
  • thevaporz: “It happens to everyone! I had to do that once. Also had a buddy new to the game let go of and fling his driver completely over the left side range netting into a tall tree. Going, going, gone! We couldn’t stop laughing after that one. Maintenance crew got it down for him a few days later. This game is awesome.”

Forum Thread of the Day: “Spikeless golf shoe recommendations”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from Austincountyag who is on the hunt for a pair of spikeless golf shoes. Conservative, not flashy, is what Austincountyag has stated as his preference, and our members have been giving their recommendations.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire thread and have your say at the link below.

  • 3fiddyz: “Love my Eccos but enjoying the grip of my Adidas 360 spikeless more at the moment.”
  • Rift2g: “I really enjoyed my AdiPure spikeless, I really like the boost the entire length, I wore them in the shop and the course, my dad also enjoyed his new sketchers go golf’s and said he would recommend them as well, Both around that $100 mark I believe.”
  • jwortsman: “Check out the G-Fore or G-Fore/Peter Millar collaborations. Very classic and goes with the style you’ve referenced. There are a ton of them on eBay right now. They’re very comfortable and offer great traction. Biggest complaint is that they pick up everything, but keep a solid grip.”
  • farmer: “Ecco’s. I have owned several pairs of True’s, and after the originals, each generation was successively less comfortable. No experience with Puma, except for socks, which are excellent.”
