GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day: “Titleist 2019 CNCPT irons?”

Published

on

Today’s GolfWRX Forum Thread of the Day was started by none other than the great night putter himself, MitchCumstein. The thread concerns a heretofore unseen Titleist iron, which you can see in the featured image above.

Here are a few comments from GolfWRX Members about this intriguing iron, but check out all of the comments in the link below:

  • tbone18 says, “very interesting…another players distance iron?”
  • MattyO1984 says, “Managed to get a hit of the C16’s and they were very impressive, it will be interesting to see what these are like.”
  • Mbiden2 says, “Pretty cool looking. Almost looks borderline P790ish. Hopefully we will get to see the new so called TM 760s soon. A side by side with these would be cool.”

Check out the full forum thread here for more discussion.

Here’s what I don’t understand about Dr. Ford’s explanation of her 36 years of angst buried into her unconscious mind and ruining her life. She is a Doctor of Psychology and couldn’t determine her psychological hangups, yet she had a career teaching others with her psychological bias. She need help fast… or will vengeance sate her hatred?!!

Guess this might be a concept of the new 720CB? Undergoing a greater change than we are used to…

I won’t look twice, I’ll just grab it right out of the bag to try it

It is funny how it is always better, yet nothing changes other than the look. Lofts are stronger and distance is longer and that is it. Amazing

I want to see how these stack up against the P790’s. My only gripe about them is that sometimes the ball comes off a little too hot. Slowly working blades into my low irons for better distance control.

I like them. I hate plastic colorful badges glued to the cavity of iron heads. This looks super easy to clean. Simple looks. I’m a fan.

If they perform, it’s a win IMO. That said, I LOVE my 8 year old set and will never switch until they are worn down to nubs.

Wish I kept my old MP-9’s. Tiger’s “new” irons look similar. Ping even has one that looks like an MP-9….Back to the future??

Thats ugly. Even with that Titleist logo, it looks worse than clubs in a box set from walmart.

Not sure those are winning for my in the looks department. Hapoy with the AP3 and how those look. Another hollow construction but this is pushing the limits

Forum Thread of the Day: “What irons have given you the most enjoyment ever?”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from i*windows who asked fellow GolfWRX members what set of irons gave or continue to provide the most enjoyment while out on the course. There are a whole host of irons mentioned, from different club-making eras too, with the unique feel the irons give the individual often making the difference.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion at the link below and have your say.

  • TheInfidel: “Just put a set of 900 Forged in the bag with ProjX LX 6.5s – WOW.  Different class of ball flight.  Crazy forgiving
  • craz-e: “My first set of blades the Mizuno MP68’s. They gave me a greater enjoyment in hitting golf shots and a greater love for the game in general.
  • jar59: “Best scoring clubs, best clubs in the wind and best feeling sweet spot were my 985 Tourney Customs with reverse muscleback and rounded toe.  I played them in 2 thru pw (10) from 1976 thru 1981
  • BCULAW: “Ping S56 with Your Issue S400 soft stepped twice, purple dot at +1.  I would never have guessed the specs would work in a million years,  but these were the absolute best feeling and performing irons I have ever hit. Pure joy to play.
  • mogc60: “Probably owned 50 sets of irons in my life and absolutely without question, the best irons I ever played were MacGregor VFoil M25 blades with Satin ProjectX 6.5. Most consistent, best feeling, best ball flight.

Forum Thread of the Day: “What shot is the best feeling in golf?”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread Of The Day comes from MtlJeff, who asks fellow GolfWRX members: “What shot is the best feeling in golf?” For our thread starter “There is no better feeling in golf than hitting a 3-wood off the deck and hitting a par 5 in two.” While some agree that a pure 3-wood off the deck is as good as it gets, citing the difficulty of the shot and the sweet sound it makes coming off the club face, our members have come up with a diverse and interesting list of feel-good shots that will most likely have you reaching for your clubs.

Here are a few posts from the forum, but make sure to check out the entire thread at the link below.

  • Jackhammer993: “I like the flop shot that just goes straight up and lands very softly, something about seeing the ball floating in the air that stirs something.
  • Dr Block: “A purely struck 20 foot downhill snake of a putt that goes in on exactly the line you envisioned with perfect dead weight pace.
  • BNGL: “Nothing gets me like the flighted wedge shot. I love it, got goosebumps just thinking about it.
  • Chadwickog: “Mid/long iron on a rope that goes high, so pure you don’t even remember feeling the strike, and you can hear the thump as it lands on the green.
  • naval2006: “Solid drive, long piercing trajectory down the heart of the fairway.  That I’ve loved all my life.

Forum Thread of the Day: “New Callaway Driver – Epic Flash”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day comes from tbomb who describes his experience with a new “Epic Flash” driver from Callaway. Despite not being due for release until next February, tbomb claims to have tested Callaway’s new driver, and he has got our forum members more than a little interested, stating how “The sound alone will make you excited. It’s a powerful sound, and the ball flies off the club face.”

Describing in great detail the appearance, from colors to crown, and performance of the new Epic Flash driver, tbomb reveals: “Launch was great, I played the 9* Epic Last year with 1*+, and this launched the same. May have been the shaft. Feel great. I hit 15 balls (straight out of the Pro Shop), and I nutted 12 of them. All on a rope. No more then 15 yards dispersion.

There may be no photos until December, but tbomb has disclosed plenty of information to get a feel for what the new Epic Flash driver will look like, describing it as “yellow and green” and a “bright club.” His overall impression of the new club from Callaway? “I feel confident saying this will be the driver for 2019.

Get the full rundown of the new Callaway Epic Flash driver here.
