Do your golf gloves wear out prematurely? If they do, it’s directly attributable to your grip and how the fingers wrap around the grip in a way that allows the handle to stay put inside a secure grasp FOR THE COMPLETE DURATION OF THE SWING!

Watch your favourite tour players and see how secure their grip is when they swing the club at 110+ mph; the grip is truly the transfer case of energy and compression from the body to the ball. It is so important to be aware if your connection to this extra bone called the golf club is solid and worthy of sending a ball to a target with authority!

You will enjoy the associated “acid test” provided along with a complete explanation in this video; we not only want to help your game, we also want you to save some hard earned cash for your next green fees!

I used to be hard on golf gloves. I could wear a hole in the palm pad area in no time. At the beginning of last year I switch from the interlock drip to the overlap grip. The problem vanished.

I should add I changed grip size as well. I’ve used undersize grip for so long given my cadet sized hand (short fingers, normal sized palms). When I bought a used set of irons with midsize grips I found I can maintain the contact between the grip and my palm pad, which was the source of excess wear on my gloves.

This should be posted permanently on the front page.

I watched many videos explaining the grip, but yours was the best by far for me. Most intuitive and easy to follow. Thanks!!

Golf gloves are made to wear out, PGA players use a new one almost every round (they get them free remember). years ago there were some gloves you could wash and re-use, do not see them advertised anymore…other then the club slipping and you wearing a hole in the palm a golf glove should not wear out as fast as they do Right? Always coming out with new clubs and balls to sell us how about a glove that used properly will last a while?

Yes, they will eventually wear out and yes, they could have improvements for the resistance to sweat and not get crusty too soon; but some golfers wear through and tear their new gloves to shreads way too soon; and it is simply getting the club in the hands properly first and then allowing the swing to release your anatomy so the grips gets to stay put the whole way around the swing.

I’ve gone thru gloves because I can’t get any to fit my meat hooks. When I was younger I could squeeze into the FJ 2x for a few rounds, and 2 seasons ago I bought 2 Bionic XXXL but both busted open before I could finish 18 holes. I enjoy wearing a glove but have come to realization I won’t find one for me. any WRX’ers out there know of a person or company that makes 4xl sized golf gloves I’d appreciate it.

You should try to find Baseball Batting Gloves that fit you and feel good with the grips you use, that don’t slip and feel OK to swing a golf club. There should be plenty of sizes to fit your needs.

Whoa! Those are boxing gloves! Impressive stuff! Something tells me your hands are already think enough to survive hundreds of golf shots a day!

I used to go through gloves like water. I switched from an interlocking grip to an pverlapping grip, even though I have “Trumpian” sized hands ( I wear a cadet medium glove). I also switched from 1/16 undersize grips to standard size. My gloves seem to last forever, now. I’m striking the ball better than ever as well.

Mitsubishi Diamana WB: Club Junkie takes a technology deep dive

Published

on

Earlier this week, Mitsubishi announced the return of its iconic Whiteboard profile with the new Diamana WB shaft.

In our launch story, we offered a rundown of the key technology in the new WB — 80-ton Dialead pitch fiber, Aerospace-grade MR70 carbon fiber, Consistent Feel Design, and the Xlink Tech Resin System. To go deeper, however, we enlisted our Resident Club Junkie and bona fide shaft nut, Brian Knudson, to track down someone from Mitsubishi at the PGA Show. Fortunately, Mitsubishi’s Director of Global Aftermarket Sales, Jonathan Alongi, was on hand to answer all of BK’s questions.

Check out their discussion about the new WB, as well as the 20th anniversary of the original design, in the video above — time stamps of key points below, including a definitive answer as to how the surfboard graphic ended up on the original Whiteboard in 2004!

  • :40 – Mitsubishi Japan expands to the U.S. in 2004
  • :50 – “The shaft that set the standard”
  • 1:12 – “The ‘board is back”
  • 1:45 – WB or Whiteboard? Or both?
  • 1:55 – The first iteration of the sixth generation of Diamana
  • 2:10 – Incorporating key technology from a 20-year journey
  • 3:10 – Modifying the tip section for more ball speed
  • 3:50 – Delivering ball speed in a low-launch, low-spin shaft
  • 4:20 – Drilling down on the shaft profile compared to the original Whiteboard
  • 5:00 – The most impressive element of the new WB
  • 5:30 – Butt, mid, tip specifications
  • 6:00 – WB’s iconic graphics and the Diamana legacy — flowers, surfboard, numbering system
  • 8:15 – An abundance of available weights and flexes
  • 8:55 – More players going lightweight

Check out more photos and see what GolfWRXers are saying about Mitsubishi WB in the forums.
