During the interview with Beef at the Valspar Championship before the 4th round a close up of Stenson’s bag showed 2 Epic headcovers, a driver one and a 3 wood. I did see photos of Stenson who was clearly using the diablo 3 wood in 3rd or 2nd round.

Henrik is awesome! No nonsense guy that doesn’t care about the latest and greatest offerings. Wow, a Kiyoshi in the 5 wood now. That’s new! Best no nonsense no watered down composites in golf.
good wood

Newer doesn’t mean better folks; whatever you are used to and gives you the most confidence is the answer. He used to play a Grafalloy in the 5 wood. Nice Oban! IMO the best graphite composites in golf. No BS no watered down cheap offerings in stock clubs. Class act company! Victor Afable is a stud!

Wonder if he would switch to the new Odyssey O-Works Tank #7 putter. Pretty much same model he is using today but with new tech. Great putter by the way and I got one already in my bag.

Same except for the aesthetics. The white hot has a much cleaner look on top being monotone.

I agree. I should have mentioned that my tech I mean the Versa and new insert. I would expect that especially the new Versa would give a player better alignment but I guess he is not too bothered by neither of this nor the new insert. Just a type of player who sticks to tried and tested gear – who can blame him.

So clearly Callaway paid Henrik a boat load of money to play their new 3-wood for one tournament. If they can convince the public that he switched from his trusty 3-wood to this “new holy grail” then they’ll increase sales like crazy. What a load of marketing B.S.

Never understood this logic. The only people who would know he switched (to the new one) are people on this site. And we aren’t gonna run out to buy a club because some player started using it

He showcases the new Callaway hyped offering each year, before reverting to what makes him such a world class golfer. Makes sense – as a professional, you have to keep your sponsors happy.

Source is from Henrik himself during an interview with Svensk Golf (Swedish Golf magazine)
He said that most likely the Diablo will be back when he comes home from Dubai. The truth is that the head cracked and there was no backup available. The epic had to do. Many have commented the change but no one asked why, Stenson said.
For you guys proficient in Swedish here is an excerpt from the interview.
“– Mest troligt så är Diablon tillbaka när jag kommer hem. Jag gillar den nya hyfsat men den gamle trotjänaren vet man ju var man har, berättar Henrik för Svensk Golf.
Sanningen är att träffytan gick sönder under förra helgens träning och att det inte fanns någon backup tillgänglig. Då fick en Epic duga.
– Jag hade ingen extra med på resan hit utan bara nya testklubbor, därav bytet. Många som kommenterat det men ingen har frågat varför, säger Stenson.”

When did he go back do the Diablo 3 wood?

Mar 8, 2017 at 5:42 am
Haha so he´s back to basics after his early “I´m testing the new Callaway woods, they gain distance compare to my old”. The Epic 3-wood was used in Dubai due to the fact that he cracked the Octane just before the tournaments and Callaway could not fix a replacement fast enough.

Where is the epic?
Ive been told some golf sites recycle their information rather than seek out and provide up to date info relating to the pga tour
