Under Armour golf bags are coming. Courtesy of a licensing agreement with Sun Mountain, the Baltimore-based company will roll out two stand bags and a cart bag for 2017.

Per a press release from UA, the two stand bags are the Speedround and Match Play, and the cart bag is the Armada.

The Speedround will retail for $239.99.

  • The lightest bag in the collection
  • 9-inch, 4-way divided top
  • X-Strap Dual Strap System for easy on/off
  • Nine pockets, two are water resistant
  • Comes in men’s and women’s styles

The Match Play’s MSRP is $259.99

  • 9.5-inch, 4-way divided top
  • E-Z Fit Dual Strap System for customizable fit
  • 11 pockets, two are water resistant

The Armada will retail for $259.99.

  • A golf cart bag with a 10.5inch, 14-way divided top
  • Single shoulder strap
  • 10 pockets, two are water resistant
  • New Smart Strap System to secure the bag to the golf cart

The trio of bags are slated to hit on- and off-course golf specialty stores in April.

Sun Mountain makes excellent bags, without having to pay the UA markup.

There are online stores where one can pick up last year’s Sun Mountain bags at a discount.

Forget about the dividers the over inflated price is a no-go for me right off the bat. Ping always had the best carry bags in the past and still do I think. They are not cheap but nowhere near these. Nike got out of equipment business don’t know why UA is starting

Never liked Under Armous ridiculously large logo on everything they brand. I get the branding, but the way they go about it, seems louds and obnoxious. I stopped buying their gear because of it. That and well, at least their shoes are complete junk.

add in tax and we’re at $300 for bags now…this bag would cost more than my irons that would go in them

Stick to clothing. UA is about value and going upmarket could really hurt you.

It’s a strange thing the 14 way divider. For whatever reason there does seem to be an inverse relationship to handicap. I play with many different people each year with whom I haven’t played before. I have never played with one that was a single digit and had a 14 way divider bag. Found similar experiences from those I play with regularly. Better players seem to enjoy walking much more, and one wouldn’t walk with a 14-way divider bag, nor expect a caddy to haul it around. I have no doubt there are good players with them, but it seems interesting. I really can’t understand why people have such issues with grips. Unless they’re sticky Winn grips or something. Another thing I haven’t seen on a single digit. . . Except JohnDaly.

I have a 14 divider cart bag playing to a 3 handicap? And I love to walk, I just so happen to use a push cart instead of carrying it. That bag easily comes in at 60lbs with all the crap I have packed in it.

I agree I like having a 14 way bag as well. What does a bag have to do with your handicap anyway? I find my club in 1.4 seconds

No problem. Have a 14 way bag. Just don’t expect it to be the lightweight, easy to carry model. Again, it’s not like it affects your game…

4 way top on both walk bags ? Really ? Should have done a 14-way top and I would grab one in a second !!!

You’re perhaps too hung up on club dividers. The 4 way divider helps to provide the lightness to an easy-to-carry bag. My lightweight Titleist bag with only 4 dividers allows me to shoot to a sub 3 handicap… and I can always find my desired club within 1.7 seconds. Why do you need 14 dividers?

Not too hung up. For those of us with mid-size grips, 4-ways are terrible for tangle.

My 4 way is good for about 3 inches then all the clubs and grips mingle in the bottom of the bag. Wonderful diversity with the driver grips hanging with the putter grips. Putter grips matter. Do you use those tubes for your mid-size grips?

        Sub 3 handicap but a plus-3 FIGJAM.

Sorry… my bad. I shouldn’t have referred to a handicap. I was just trying to get the point across that a 4 way bag won’t affect your scoring ability.

4 way or 14 way personally I don’t think is a big deal especially if each 4 way divider runs down throughout the bag separating each section.

Also it seems a 14 way divider would let each iron swing freely when walking or riding causing extra bag chatter (honestly no idea if that’s the case, just a thought). My titleist bag has a 6 way divider and have 0 trouble with clubs getting intertwined, but each section is sectioned off to prevent that.

Anyways, personally haven’t been overwhelmed by the new shoes or bags released so far lately. Maybe they’ll have different color ways that might look a bit better, JMHO.
