Tiger shocks the world, announces summer schedule

Published

on

On Tuesday, Tiger Woods announced his summer schedule, which is sure to shock the world.

The media has always given Woods grief for being overly selective with his tournament schedule, playing in only majors, WGC-Championships, the usual Memorial, Bay Hill and Torrey Pines events, as well as his own tournaments for his foundation.

After recently committing to The Players Championship (no surprise), Woods proved his critics dead wrong with this Tweet:

OK, maybe there’s nothing shocking here at all — two majors, the Memorial and the Quicken Loans, his own tournament — but his decision to play the Greenbrier wasn’t completely expected.

Woods has only the played the Greenbrier on one occasion — in 2012 when he missed the cut after shooting 71-69.

Jim Justice, Chairman and owner of the Greenbrier, had this to say:

[quote_box_center]”We are pleased and excited to have one of the all-time greats in the game join The Greenbrier Classic’s 2015 field. Tiger is one of the biggest stars in all of sport and he brings significant attention to any event he enters. All involved with The Greenbrier Classic look forward to hosting Tiger on The Old White TPC Course as one of the professionals in this year’s field at America’s resort.”[/quote_box_center]

Woods did not announce whether or not he plans on playing the PGA Championship, and currently does not qualify for the WGC-Bridgestone, which invites the top 50 players in the world (Woods is ranked No. 116).

As of now, Woods’ summer schedule looks as follows:

  • May 7-10: The Players Championship
  • June 4-7: Memorial Tournament
  • June 18-21: U.S. Open
  • July 2-5: Greenbrier Classic
  • July 16-19: The Open Championship
  • July 30-August 2: Quicken Loans National

He should stick with who really cares anymore!
Stay home and just maybe I won’t need to hear
all the BS the sports anouncers talk about his past.
Sooner or later we might get lucky and stop hearing
    about useless information!

    Busy summer?

He should look back to the schedule of his early years and play it.

How is this a shock? Adding the Greenbrier? How about adding the St. Jude, the Nelson, Colonial, the Scottish Open, the Canadian Open? He is sticking with a old formula that does not work for preparing him or winning majors. Once again, move along, nothing to see here.

Yeah, what a terrible formula. Doesn’t work at all. His 14 majors were pure luck.

He won many of his majors with a busier schedule. Hasn’t won a major since 2008.

His first 14 weren’t……….but his next one (if there is one) will be pure luck. You know, the kind like the priest in Caddyshack……before he is struck by lightening.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
