Video of the year- Tribute to Wade Liles of TaylorMade
Watch a full build of RBZ Tour Driver in detail on the tour van.
Just encase you didnt see this video in the original thread called… GolfWRXers took their Talents to South Beach for the Ultimate RBZ Fitting Experience I thought we should pull the video out and showcase it by itself. I mean Wade is a super star now. Watch this guy do his work. SOB knows his stuff and after years of service and gaining knowledge he has become a Jedi. For instance watch how he hits the 4 grams of hot melt without measuring. Off the hook talent.

TaylorMade Tour Truck is a GolfWRXer’s paradise in there. Drawers of heads, shafts and tour pros in and out. Talking with Wade Liles is a WRXer dream come true. You could spend hours in there just rummaging through drawers…easy. As luck would have it traffic was a little light after the barrage of RBZ hybrids requests from Tour Pros earlier. Ryan’s (a GolfWRX member asked to come to Doral) fitting called for 4 grams of hot melt in the toe, which of course could not be done at the PGA store. So Dave from TM hooked him up. Wade said, ‘Let’s build you a driver right now.’ Ryan’s knees about locked up right there. What a great surprise. Wade got to work and we filmed the video. It’s a 15 minute golf tech talk masterpiece with a surprise visit from one pro, while another pro watched us ogle over the driver build. Wade is great on camera and feeds us great info, so enjoy!
Watch and learn young Jedi…

Spotted: Tommy Fleetwood’s TaylorMade Spider Tour X Prototype putter
Tommy Fleetwood has been attached to his Odyssey White Hot Pro #3 putter for years now. However, this week at the Wells Fargo Championship, we did spot him testing a new putter that is very different, yet somewhat similar, to his current gamer.
This new putter is a TaylorMade Spider Tour X head but with a brand new neck we haven’t seen on a Spider before. A flow neck is attached to the Spider head and gives the putter about a 1/2 shaft offset. This style neck will usually increase the toe hang of the putter and we can guess it gets the putter close to his White Hot Pro #3.
Another interesting design is that lack of TaylorMade’s True Path alignment on the top of the putter. Instead of the large white center stripe, Tommy’s Spider just has a very short white site line milled into it. As with his Odyssey, Tommy seems to be a fan of soft inserts and this Spider prototype looks to have the TPU Pure Roll insert with 45° grooves for immediate topspin and less hopping and skidding.
The sole is interesting as well in that the rear weights don’t look to be interchangeable and are recessed deep into the ports. This setup could be used to push the CG forward in the putter for a more blade-like feel during the stroke, like TaylorMade did with the Spider X Proto Scottie Scheffler tested out.
Tommy’s putter is finished off with an older Super Stroke Mid Slim 2.0 grip in blue and white. The Mid Slim was designed to fit in between the Ultra Slim 1.0 and the Slim 3.0 that was a popular grip on tour.

yeah i dont really see the specialty or talent……..glue a plastic piece on a shaft screw a head and throw a grip on…….
if you do those everday for a living than getting a feel for a hotmelt gun isnt a big deal
i am more impressed on how much taylormade spends on equipment to do simple task
and yeah the EGO is a bit much for what he does………after building houses that seems pretty cake…..lol
watching miura grind an iron ………now thats talent, and he is prolly humble as can be

Very cool video – and yes, the guy has talent. But the G*d complex is bizarre.
Is he building a golf club or performing open heart surgery? Settle down, dude.

… blown away !.
That must’ve been so damn amazing being able to throw out your specifications, etc. and have him put it all together in a matter of minutes.
Most definitely jealous guys !.

Very nice video, nice to see, but come on, a bit of overstatement that “no one else can do that”. It’s not rocket science, just high temp/short time, heat curing glue. Just need to assemble the right equipment to do all that, which they did, very nice. Hmm…he uses TPC to put the grip on (says it needs much less liquid than mineral spirits). TPC Solvent is an excellent replacement for chlorinated solvents, kero-sene and mineral spirits. Contains isoparaffinic hydrocarbons (naphtha petroleum).
