WITB Time Machine: Tony Finau’s winning WITB, 2023 Mexico Open at Vidanta

At the 2023 Mexico Open, Tony Finau hoisted the tournament trophy thanks to a steady final-round performance. Finau entered Sunday with a two-shot lead and maintained control throughout, carding a 5-under 66 to finish at 24-under for the tournament, three strokes clear of then-world No. 1 Jon Rahm. Displaying his characteristic ball striking prowess, Finau hit 64 of 72 greens in regulation for the week and led the field in strokes gained: tee-to-green. Though Rahm applied pressure with a final-round 67, Finau remained composed, sinking crucial birdie putts and avoiding major mistakes. The victory marked his sixth PGA Tour win.
