Spotted: Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Pro Red wood shaft

Mitsubishi Chemical’s Tensei shaft line has been one of the most played and trusted on tour since 2015 when the CK version was released. Since then we have seen updates to the line; the current generation of Tensei 1K Pro has been highly popular as well. Currently, the Tensei 1K Pro line consists of the White (low launch and spin), the counterbalanced Orange ( low launch and spin), and the Blue (mid launch and spin) to cover a majority of golfers. However, spotted at The American Express this week is a new Red 1K Pro that we can assume will be the highest launching and spinning shaft in the lineup.

1K fiber is the big story in the current Tensei shafts. This fiber is ultra-premium and is usually used in the handle section, providing additional strength to guard against deformation during the swing. Mitsubishi combines 1K fiber with their Xlink Resin System to increase the amount of carbon in the shaft for better feel and performance. We don’t know yet the full specs of the Tensei 1K Pro Red, but if we go by previous red label shafts from Mitsubishi, it should have a little softer tip section for some added launch.
