What are the best Tiger Woods shoes of all time? – #TigerTuesdays
As part of our new ‘Tiger Tuesdays’ weekly content, we created some Tiger Tuesdays forum threads to get feedback from WRXers on some hot topics relating to the 15-time major champion Tiger Woods.
Last week we asked our members: ‘What are the best Tiger Woods shoes of all time?’, and WRXers have been having their say on the matter over the last seven days.
Undoubtedly, the most popular response from our members has been the TW13 model. But there’s been plenty of love for both the TW14 and TW15, while some underrated gems have received a mention too.
- TW13 c/o @golfwerkz
- TW14 c/o @jloller7
- TW15 c/o @nikegolf
Here’s what our members have been saying about what they feel are the best Tiger Woods shoes of all time:
- str8up: “TW13 is winning this like Secretariat!”
- Chappie: “The TW ‘13’s were probably the first tiger shoes I truly “liked” from a design aesthetic standpoint and they were comfy as **** to boot. They get my vote.”
- tmac7592: “Tw 13 and 14 hands down. Then the TW shoe that never was the tour premiere.”
- Chief Illiniwek: “I still wear both the 13’s and 14’s as my main golf shoes. I think I have 9 total pairs. The 13’s are the most comfortable, but the 14’s win all the other major categories. They look better, are more waterproof and yet more breathable somehow, and they are more stable. I give the nod to the 14’s, but I’m happy in either shoe.”
- osubass: “I think it’s pretty clear that the TW13 is the consensus favorite, but the SP8 TW Tour ranks right up there for me. My second favorite has to be the extremely underrated TW2009.”
- jaredt22: “A lot of talk about the 13’s and 14’s, which are nice, but my favorite pair are the grey TW15’s. I’m still rocking them, and they are very comfortable, a must since I, mostly, walk.”
- jjleyes: “Clearly I’m in the minority here, and I’ll preface this by saying I’ve never owned a pair of TW shoes (I’m an ECCO guy). When I first saw TW wearing the ‘13 model, I said to myself (and maybe out loud) those are the ugliest golf shoes I’ve ever seen him wear. They must be comfy, cause I still think they are hideous. But he paved the way for Nike to make more running shoe like golf shoes, I’ll give him that. My favourite looking TW shoes are the SP-8’s, all white, with the “ghost swoosh”. Pure class.”
- 2012BFT: “I love the TW15… I wish I could get another pair of the Grey!”
- richardbegun: “For me its hands down the TW 14. I still rock those.”
- fredstar: “I liked the SP7.5. Still wear the 13 and 14 regularly.”
- soap1984: “Tw 13 by a mile.”
- Flagrant: “The TW13’s are quite the best looking and most durable shoe of all time. By far my favorite. Retro them! The TW 14 are the 2nd best for similar reasons. The Tw15’s were good as well, although after one season the greys were completely trashed. The mesh didn’t survive the all the green **** they spray on the Bethpage Black course. If you follow them, there’s a small cult following on these shoes, pairs listed on eBay for crazy prices with the obnoxious prices for the 13 Masters releases being the highest.”
The TW13 shoe is certainly the most popular amongst our members, but you can have your say on the topic here.
We’re also running plenty more Tiger polls and surveys as part of our ‘Tiger Tuesdays’, and we want your views on the following topics:

Interesting clubs at top of bag – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, users are talking about top of bag setups that are non-traditional or thought-provoking in some way. Original poster @SuperSpurs106 inquired about other members who might use unorthodox set-ups to help with gapping issues or weak spots.
They wrote:
“I currently have a PING G430 driver, TM Qi35 3W and a TM Qi4D 7W. Driver and 7W are fine but can’t get on with my 3W and have always struggling with this club over the years. Thinking of adding a 2H which I know would look odd. Just wondering if anyone else had a weird set up at the top of their bag?”
Our members in the forum have offered up their thoughts and personal experiences with non-traditional top of bag set-ups, and their reasoning for thinking outside of the box to begin with. Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- BowMain42: “Don’t worry about what “looks” odd. If the club does what you need it to do, it’s the right club.”
- scooterhd2: “I cant hit 3 woods either. Thats why I roll with a unicorn XL Hibore 2 wood. 400 cc head at 16 degrees of loft and its just a monster 3 wood off the tee. Off the deck, we are playing the f6 baffler. 5 wood at 41.75 inches and its easy to control.”
- phizzy30: “I had driver, 3 metal, 2/4 hybrid once upon a time as a higher ss player. 4 hybrid is gone and in place is a driving iron nowadays. I don’t think what you’re proposing is weird in anyway, however the yardage gap might be glaringly huge between driver and 2 hybrid. What is it about your 3 metal that has got you all messed up? You could always go 4 metal with shorter shaft and see if that works.”

Members of the Mini Driver Club – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, one user has gone searching for fellow users of a mini driver. In a post, @TightFade asked for other mini driver users to chime in with their weapon of choice, the reason for employing a mini, and what club follows it in the bag.
@TightFade asked:
“What mini are you playing? What spot in the bag did it take over? What’s the next club after it? For me: Elyte mini 13.5. Replacing 3w. Next up club looks like it’ll be 5w.”
Our members in the forum have been sharing their own bag setups featuring the mini driver, and the various reasons they purchased one in the first place. Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- RCGA: “Ping G430 Max 12* ‘Thriver.’ Next club is a 4w and 2i (I play a weird course).”
- JMB3: “R7 at 12.75 with Diamana BB 63s. 3w replacement. Next Club: Elyte Ti 5w at 17*.”
- ColdOkieGolf: “R7 15.5 turned down to 13.5 It replaces the 3w. I found it surprisingly easy to hit off the deck, and it’s very rare that I need or want to hit something beyond 250 from the fairway, so next club is my 7w.”
- ChaosTheory: “I’m sub-90 MPH with driver. But I’m able to hit DOD. I have been wanting something like the R7 15.5, so I just ordered one. I have a spot in the bag so nothing has to go. But I could see it replacing my trusty 4 wood, which I never use for approach shots. Just tee shots and lay ups. If I drop the 4 wood, I will turn my 7 wood down to ~20 degrees and will have good gaps. I recently tried a thriver build: 12 degree driver turned to 14, with a heavier 44 inch shaft and added head weight. I hit it great. Very accurate and not overly high, but the problem was that it sometimes went as far as a typical drive. And that’s not what I needed. So I will probably turn the 15.5 up to 16.5 or even 17.5. It’s all theoretical at this point. ?”

i own 1857 footjoy golf shoes and i have had a share of ecco shoes. i have to say that the tw 1 were uniquely durable, comfortable, stable and maintained very well. i know they don’t look very good with pants but they are good shoes.

I wonder what Tigers favorite Sox are, and does he even wear sox. How about his underwear, is it Boxers or Briefs, From what I have read from his squad of floozie waitresses he does not need a Kangaroo pouch in the shorts though. How about an article on that. Does he endorse Trojans another brand, or nothing. Inguiring minds want to know these important things. Ridiculous.
