Bettinardi SS38 putter added to the company’s Armlock offerings

Published

on

Bettinardi has today added to the Studio Stock Series, unveiling the new full-compact mallet SS38 Armlock.

The new SS38 Armlock features Bettinardi’s patented F.I.T face, which according to the company is 20 percent deeper than other mallets on the market, and it aims to provide golfers with maximum softness through your stroke. The high MOI SS38 Armlock contains a 303 stainless steel body, and its hand-polished platinum finish aims to offer not just a sleek look, but added durability.

Speaking on the addition of the SS38 Armlock, Robert Bettinardi, CEO and founder of the company, said

“That is the beauty of owning my own shop, having an excellent team that has been with me for over 20 years, we can quickly R&D anything, test it with our world-class Tour Staff like Matt Kuchar, Freed Couples, Haotong Li, Eddie Pepperell, and others, and get feedback quickly to begin crafting the highest quality, best-performing putters in the world and get them quickly into the bags of everyday golfers. This is exactly what happened with the SS38 Armlock mallet putter and us being able to extend our new 2019 Studio Stock lineup rather quickly.”

The SS38 Armlock putter from Bettinardi is the second Armlock putter in the companies lineup, following their 28 Slotback putter, and the new addition features a single-bend shaft and minimal toe hang. The Armlock putter weighs 400 grams and comes equipped with a Custom Deep Etched Cord Grip and a matching Studio Stock Headcover.

The putter comes in a standard 5-degree loft, and can also be ordered in 4, 6, and 7-degree lofts. The SS38 Armlock arrives with a standard 71-degree lie angle with 68, 69, 70 and 72-degree options also available.

The Bettinardi SS38 Armlock putter, which costs $450, is available now for pre-order from Bettinardi.com, with global shipping beginning on March 15.

Spotted: Titleist GTS USWO headcovers

Published

on

GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore was at Riviera Country Club this last week in Los Angeles for the U.S. Women’s Open. While browsing the photos, I spotted a recent major trend in headcovers. That is, the Titleist GTS headcover line expands the majors theme.

Seen on the bag of Natalia Guseva were the red, white, and blue Titleist GTS covers. This is the third time we have seen limited-edition Titleist major covers, the others being at the Masters and the PGA Championship. But with the launch of the GTS line back at the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March, this is the first time we have seen Titleist come out with major themed head covers for the season (driver headcovers through hybrids).

Check out some photos below.

At the Masters, we saw the familiar Masters green, white, and yellow. While the PGA Championship design was colors synonymous with the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. This shows the season major drops continue full steam ahead for major OEMs. New opportunities for each major for designs and themes, and who knows, maybe a lucky spark for a player and a major championship for their resume. It gets the wheels turning for what major theme headcover you would keep on your bag for the whole season!
