Lamkin launches three new grips: TS1, Sonar, Comfort Plus
Lamkin is adding three new grips for Spring. The TS1, Sonar, and Comfort Plus grips all showcase the company’s latest grip technology, including Micro-Texture surface patterns and performance-enhancing grip shapes.
Bob Lamkin, CEO and President of Lamkin Grips says the company has spent the last year developing new materials, surface patterns and sizing.
Lamkin uses specific proprietary hybrid compounds with each grip, as well as Micro-Texture surface patterns for a better grip. All of the grip lines are offered in Lamkin’s new Plus shape featuring a tour-inspired straighter profile that is slightly larger in the lower hand.
The company describes TS1 a Tour-inspired, high-performance grip made with new hybrid materials that are slightly softer than traditional rubbers. The Sonar is a tackier grip with a reduced-taper profile designed to appeal to a wide range of player preferences. Comfort Plus is a softer grip made with durable DSX material designed for maximum shock-absorption.
Bob Lamkin was kind enough to provide GolfWRX with a few exclusive quotes about the new grips.
“Without any hesitation or doubt, the new grip lines that Lamkin is launching this Spring are the best we’ve ever made! The innovation and technology behind Sonar, TS1 and Comfort Plusis the most advanced in our company’s 93-year history. We’ve invested a tremendous amount of time and money over the last few years to create a distinctive hybrid compound that not only feels incredibly tacky and responsive, but has durability and all-weather performance properties that are totally ground-breaking in the grip category.
“Typically, the durometer of a grip changes with significant temperature fluctuations… golf grips are usually much harder in cold weather, and then softer in warmer weather. What is so revolutionary about our compounds is that they maintain a consistent feel, and durometer, regardless of temperature. The material is also designed to maintain a high coefficient of friction in wet weather, ensuring a slip-free grip connection in all climates and conditions.”
“In addition to the revolutionary new grip materials, the new Sonar, TS1 and Comfort Plus grips feature highly intricate and functional surface patterns with our proprietary Micro-Texture Technology. This highly advanced texturing process creates variable depth surface patterns that enable both a comfortable and secure grip connection. I couldn’t be more proud of Lamkin’s exceptionally talented team of engineers, chemists and technicians for developing these game-changing grip innovations!”
TS1 is priced from $9.99 MSPR, and will be offered in Black/Red in both a Standard+ and Midsize+ (“+” indicates taper sizing). Sonar is priced from $8.99 MSPR, and will be offered in Black/Blue in both a Standard+ and Midsize+. Comfort Plus is priced from $7.99 MSPR, and will be offered in Black/Red in both a Standard+ and Midsize+ and Gray/Teal in Undersize+.
All three lines will be available at select golf retailers and on Lamkin’s website beginning April 2.
