Spotted: SuperStroke Cord Putter Grips
In recent years, the SuperStroke name has become almost synonymous with putter grips themselves. The company’s putter grips of various shapes and sizes have not only become a runaway success on the PGA Tour, but with golfers worldwide.
But there has always been a tiny subset of golfers who have stayed away from the company’s putter grips for one reason: they love cord putter grips and SuperStroke doesn’t offer any. It appears SuperStoke may be working on something for them.
At this week’s CareerBuilder Challenge, GolfWRX photographed prototype SuperStroke cord putter grips that were being tested by PGA Tour players. According to a company representative, the grips were created at the request of Tour players and are just prototypes for now.
Like all SuperStroke putter grips, the corded models are made of a high-tech polyurethane and can be produced in each of the company’s grip sizes.
We photographed:
- Pistol GT 1.0 (the non-corded putter grip used by Sergio Garcia)
- Pistol GT 2.0
- Slim 3.0
- Flatso 1.0 (the non-corded putter grip used by Jordan Spieth)
- Flatso 3.0
- Ultra Slim 1.0
The grips are said to provide a “traditional cord feel” and “better wet-weather traction.”

Spotted: Titleist GTS USWO headcovers
GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore was at Riviera Country Club this last week in Los Angeles for the U.S. Women’s Open. While browsing the photos, I spotted a recent major trend in headcovers. That is, the Titleist GTS headcover line expands the majors theme.
Seen on the bag of Natalia Guseva were the red, white, and blue Titleist GTS covers. This is the third time we have seen limited-edition Titleist major covers, the others being at the Masters and the PGA Championship. But with the launch of the GTS line back at the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March, this is the first time we have seen Titleist come out with major themed head covers for the season (driver headcovers through hybrids).
Check out some photos below.

At the Masters, we saw the familiar Masters green, white, and yellow. While the PGA Championship design was colors synonymous with the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. This shows the season major drops continue full steam ahead for major OEMs. New opportunities for each major for designs and themes, and who knows, maybe a lucky spark for a player and a major championship for their resume. It gets the wheels turning for what major theme headcover you would keep on your bag for the whole season!

This is a solid move by SuperStroke. I switched to a GolfPride Tour SNSR (fantastic), and one of the main reasons was because in the 100 sweatbox that DC is in the summer my SS got slick, which is terrible for any club, especially a putter.

For when you grip your putter too hard in the rain.
