Ugly sticks. They work for him though, he’s a stud. Hate that driver.

Why does he carry a 22degree hybrid and a 3-iron? A bit redundant I’d say but then my name is not on my bag either. 🙂

A Cleveland MT 3 iron has a standard loft of 19 degrees

Probably gets good numbers with that loft and the extra shaft length gives him the distance he needs to fill the gap. I don’t now for sure, that’s just what I would think.

        Um…

His 3 iron is 19* which means its a lower loft than his hybrid. His hybrid is is “3 iron” and his 3 iron is his “2 iron, 5 wood, utility club that fills the gap between 3 wood and 3 iron”

Yea but if the 19* 3 iron produces a higher launch and spin with lower ball speed from the shorter shaft, then it will not go as far.

Why would he stamp 9 degrees on a driver that actually plays 10.5 degrees of loft? that is very strange.

Umm whatever ur driver is stamped, I guarantee its playing different, just the way it is you need to get the face mesured to get the true angle of your club

      • Jtriscott

        Jul 8, 2013 at 2:33 pm

Just means the face is closed. Just like any adjustable driver, except his is not adjustable.

May be he had it bent.

The reason the loft is not stamped is due to production runs. We stamp most of our tour product with one loft and then there are subtle differences set up where we do not have to change the dies that are in the casting and that saves much time and money. Changing a 9 degree to one that says maybe 9* is very easy, it is also very easy to put a line under the 9 or such. Our production runs for tour product are much smaller, it is just economies of scale that dictate the way we stamp our tour product.
