Callaway unveils new Odyssey line of Ai-Dual, Ai-Dual Square 2 Square putters

Published

Callaway has today unveiled its new Odyssey line of Ai-Dual and Ai-Dual Square 2 Square putters.

The new putters feature the brand’s latest Dual insert and a modern center-shafted design that balances them toe-up, putting them in the “zero torque” putter category.

Designed using Artificial Intelligence, this dual-layer urethane insert has a soft outer layer and a firm inner layer in a bid to deliver not only consistent ball speed across the face, but also enhanced forward roll up and down the face.

A new Forward Roll Design Groove featured in the putters is deeper and more aggressive. With a 19-degree slope, it works in conjunction with the dual-layer design to improve forward roll-up and down the face.

A modern center-shafted design positions the shaft just underneath the CG plane of the putter. This results in putters that rest with the toe up, opposite of a traditional putter with toe hang, in design to promote a square face throughout the stroke.

2-degrees of shaft lean presets the hands in a forward press position in design to eliminate the opening of the face that often happens when golfers forward press on their own.

In addition, the grip is designed to offset the 2 degrees of shaft lean that these putters come with and get the leading edge of the grip parallel to the leading edge of the putter in a bid to provide a more comfortable setup.

Spotted: Titleist GTS USWO headcovers

Published

on

GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore was at Riviera Country Club this last week in Los Angeles for the U.S. Women’s Open. While browsing the photos, I spotted a recent major trend in headcovers. That is, the Titleist GTS headcover line expands the majors theme.

Seen on the bag of Natalia Guseva were the red, white, and blue Titleist GTS covers. This is the third time we have seen limited-edition Titleist major covers, the others being at the Masters and the PGA Championship. But with the launch of the GTS line back at the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March, this is the first time we have seen Titleist come out with major themed head covers for the season (driver headcovers through hybrids).

Check out some photos below.

At the Masters, we saw the familiar Masters green, white, and yellow. While the PGA Championship design was colors synonymous with the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. This shows the season major drops continue full steam ahead for major OEMs. New opportunities for each major for designs and themes, and who knows, maybe a lucky spark for a player and a major championship for their resume. It gets the wheels turning for what major theme headcover you would keep on your bag for the whole season!
