While speaking with GolfWRX, Ben An discussed whether or not he believes LIV players should be allowed to play in the Presidents Cup.

“Well, it would be a great addition to the team, but I feel like we’re missing Cam (Smith), (Joaquin) Niemann and maybe Dean Burmester. He’s been playing great and I saw last week he was playing some good golf.”

An added that the absence of the LIV pros is also a blow to the U.S. side as well, but that the rules are the rules.

“But, you know, it’s just the, just the rules of now, right? You know, it sucks for not having the team, but it’s kind of the same for the U.S. team, right? They’re missing a few players as well.

“We need to have a win in our national team, but it’s up to Mike and the PGA tour to decide. So it’s run by the PGA Tour, not the PGA of America, like the Ryder Cup.”

However, An stated that he doesn’t expect any changes to the rules for the upcoming 2024 Presidents Cup.

“So, you know, as of now, I mean, this year, I don’t see it happening. But hopefully, like I said, we’ll figure something out, we’ll figure this merger, or something out in the next few years and hopefully see them in the team because they, like you said, they’re great players, they will miss out.

“But I think even the teams we have right now, I think it’s pretty good. Playing in Canada will help us this year, you know, we’ll see what happens…We’ll miss them, but hopefully we have a strong enough team to compete against the U.S. team this year.”

After Xander Schauffele’s wire-to-wire victory he went on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” to discuss his first major championship victory.

Among the other topics explored was Scottie Scheffler’s arrest on Friday of the tournament.

Schauffele shared that Scheffler received some friendly ribbing from the members of their group chat about the world number one’s mugshot.

Xander added that the group chat includes himself, Scheffler, Gary Woodland, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas.

One of the co-hosts, PFT Commenter, told Schauffele that they should have changed the group photo in the chat to Scheffler’s mug shot photo, to which Xander replied that they already had.

“You gotta change the picture of that group chat to the mug shot,” PFT said.

“Obviously that happened,” Xander replied.

Despite the stress that the arrest undoubtedly caused Scottie, he clearly is keeping his sense of humor about the situation.

While speaking with GolfWRX, Byeong Hun An discussed the pros and cons of being a professional golfer on social media.

“I just like reading some, you know, funny rumors here and there looking at the, the news, I guess, you know, it’s the things you cannot get from the mainstream news, you know, like the little gossips here and there”

“I hear a lot of support, you know, a lot of friendly messages from, from the followers and everything. I think those are the pros, right?”

“[A con] is that it takes a lot of energy out of you.”

An also said that he doesn’t understand the tribal fighting between PGA Tour fans and LIV Golf fans.

“You know… there might be some messages that’s a little aggressive or you can hear some nonsense from other people… There are a lot of fights going happening on Twitter these days between the, you know, the pro PGA (Tour) fans and pro-LIV fans and just listening to them is exhausting.”

“To be honest, I don’t know why they’re so mad about. Not having LIV golfers on PGA Tour or like, you know, why they’re so mad about.”

“We (the players) have been quiet, but I see all the fans kind of fighting each other. There’s no point.”

“They’re not doing the negotiations, you know, the, the pros are or the, you know, investors are.”

“It’s a very weird world. I think that Twitter especially, it’s very weird.”

An added that there is no animosity between LIV and PGA Tour players.

“I saw Dean (Burmester) last week, I saw (Joaquin) Niemann last week I saw many guys…They’re on a different tour, you know, it’s not like we’re at war.”

“I mean, maybe some guys maybe think that, but I don’t because it’s a choice they made and then, you get to see them in the majors.”

An will tee it up next at the Memorial Tournament in two weeks.
