Perez finished 28th in the LIV Golf season standings, leaving his future in doubt. The 4 Aces won the inaugural LIV Golf league but last year they fell short, and Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC won the team championship.

The combination of Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Peter Uihlein and Pat Perez will give it at least one more go in 2024.

Protestors go topless at TPC Scottsdale in attempt to get PGA Tour pro into Phoenix Open field

Published

on

In 2022, fan-favorite Harry Higgs sunk a medium range par putt at the famous 16th-hole at TPC Scottsdale during the Waste Management Phoenix Open. In celebration, Higgs lifted his shirt up to flash the raucous crowd, causing the spectators to lose their minds in the process.

Now, fans in the Scottsdale area are protesting to have Higgs back in the field in 2024.

The 32-year-old has struggled over the past few seasons since 2022 and has fallen all the way past number 400 in the OWGR, which isn’t good enough to gain entry into this year’s field.

Dude Wipes, which is one of Higgs’ sponsors, posted a picture of the protestors on X.

“Hey @WMPhoenixOpen how about an exemption for our DUDE @harryhiggs1991”

Time will tell if the fans’ antics are enough to get Higgs back to TPC Scottsdale. The Waste Management Phoenix Open will begin February 8.

Ian Poulter is putting a fairway wood from 2006 in his bag to begin LIV season

Published

on

LIV Golf’s Ian Poulter is attempting to turn back the clock to start his 2024 season.

The 48-year-old revealed on social media that he plans to put his Titleist 906F2 fairway wood from all the way back in 2006 in his bag once again eighteen years later.

“Sometimes you have to go back and find the clubs you simply loved. I’ve been looking for a 240 – 245 carry. My old 906F2 @Titleist was that once. Pulled it out and OMG it’s incredible. Coming back to play. Can’t wait to bring her back. Old is good sometimes. It has some battle wounds but she has also holds great memories. I won several events with it. Let’s hope we can again with @MajesticksGC”.

Poulter may be looking to regain some of his old magic, as his first two years on LIV haven’t been quite up to the standards he’s grown accustomed to, finishing 36th in the individual standings.

The Englishman will kick off his 2024 campaign next week at Mayakoba.

Anthony Kim in talks with PGA Tour and LIV Golf over shock return to pro golf

Published

on

Is one of the most desired comebacks in all of sport on the cards?

As first reported by Golf.com, Anthony Kim has been in discussion with both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf as he plots a return to the sport following a 12 year absence.

The news was confirmed by ESPN sources, who revealed that Kim has intensified his training in anticipation of a comeback over recent weeks.

Per Golf.com, LIV Golf showed no initial interest in signing Kim until Greg Norman intervened to begin negotiations over the prospect of a one-year deal.

Golf.com also reported that a major issue in negotiations has been an insurance policy now worth an estimated $10 million that Kim possesses from his playing day. The policy would be voided if the 38-year-old returned to pro golf.

Should a comeback on the PGA Tour come to fruition, Kim could play in non-signature events as a past champion or through exemptions.

Per the reports, Kim is looking to tee it up again as early as this spring.
