Spotted: Brent Grant’s Scotty Cameron Circle T T5W putter

Published

on

We spotted Brent Grant’s Scotty Cameron putter and he was kind enough to let us get some photos of it. Grant, like a lot of tour pros, is a fan of Scotty’s Phantom X 5 mallet shape that has been around for years now.

But Grant’s is a little different as it looks to be based more off the Futura 5W model that debuted in 2018. The older 5W features a 1-piece face and sole plate that are milled from 6061 aluminum and then bolted to 303 stainless steel body. Sound and feel are subjective, but aluminum usually offers a softer feel at impact than steel and to some can sound just slightly more muted.

The aluminum base and face are anodized black while the stainless body is finished in that popular matte silver we have seen a lot of tour putters done in. Alignment consists of a single line on the top and 2 white lines on the outside of the flange.

A traditional length L neck is welded to the top and the sole has 15g weights installed. The shaft looks to be steel that is painted black and Brent went with the Super Stroke Pistol 1.0 Zenergy in black and white.

Aretera officially launches Alpha One shafts, available at Club Champion

Published

on

As we reported earlier this year, Alex Dee, along with a group of industry veterans, have officially launched their own golf shaft company, leading with the Alpha One. Now you can get your hands on that shaft at Club Champion.

The Alpha One Blue and Gray series are debuting Aretera’s PowerGrid technology. Aretera is the first company to use spread tow woven carbon fabric in multiple layers at full length comprising over 50 percent of the shafts weight in design for maximum stability with a uniform feel.

These materials, novel in their application at this level, aim to offer high-level structural benefits compared to traditional unidirectional composites.

Speaking on the new shafts, Alex Dee stated:

“A lot of shafts have had to sacrifice feel to get stability. We’ve found ways to get it back. And it’s not a compromise.”

Aretera launches on April 1, 2024 at all Club Champion locations nationwide.
