Why Nelly Korda thinks that PGA Tour pros ‘should watch more women’s golf’
Nelly Korda is a superstar in women’s golf, and has received praise from some of the most prominent figure in the men’s game.
Korda competed in December’s QBE and PNC Championship, which was a PGA/LPGA mixed event. Among those who were impressed with her game was world number 16, Max Homa.
“We talked about it all day,” Homa said. “It was a little bit outrageous. She drove it down the middle on every hole, she almost hit the pin three times, hit it to like two inches on one par 4, then from way too far that next one, she almost hit the pin. And chipped it great, so I don’t know how she does not win every week. It’s a testament to these other ladies that anyone can even sniff beating her because that was wildly impressive.”
Four-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner agreed and sang Korda’s praise.
“I think I called her the Tiger Woods of the LPGA Tour at one point,” he said. “And then through about seven or eight holes I said she’s hit every shot just like she wants to for eight holes. Like does she hit a bad shot? I have no idea, I’ve never seen her hit a bad shot. We were laughing all day.”
In response to all of the praise she’s received, Korda this week suggested that the men should watch more women’s golf.
“They should watch more women’s golf. I think if they watched a lot of players out here, they would come away equally impressed.”
Korda, who is the number 2 ranked player in the world, will be kicking off her season this week in hopes of claiming the number one spot.

Why Patrick Reed was left unimpressed with his caddie’s comment during the Masters
Patrick Reed scrapped together another strong Masters performance, finishing in a tie for 13th.
Despite the solid week, the 2018 Masters Champion lost strokes off the tee and did most of his best work on and around the greens. For the week, Reed ranked 3rd in Strokes Gained: Around the Green and 5th in Strokes Gained: Putting.
After a particularly bad drive during his third round on Saturday, Reed’s caddie, Kessler Karain, who’s also his brother-in-law, made a snide but factual comment to Patrick.
“Your driving has cost us a lot this week,” Karain remarked.
Reed didn’t disagree and told reporters after the round that there was nothing good about his round.
“No, there’s nothing good out of today. I guess the only good thing is I didn’t make a double. That was about it.”
“Yeah, it was a frustrating day.”
A reporter then asked: “It’s a good thing he’s a family member, right?”
To which Reed responded:
“Yeah, exactly. I’d probably be dragging him up that last hole, I swear.Just what you want to hear as you’re looking at the ball in the tree, and he goes, ‘You need to drive it better.’ Thanks, Kessler. I appreciate it. Great words of wisdom. Drive it better.”
This may be the last major for Reed for a while, as the 33-year-old has not been invited nor qualified for next month’s PGA Championship.

Neal Shipley presser ends in awkward fashion after reporter claims Tiger handed him note on 8th fairway
Neal Shipley, who had the thrill of playing alongside Tiger Woods on Sunday at The Masters as well being low amateur for the tournament, had an interesting exchange with a reporter during his post-round press conference on Sunday.
The reporter asked, “I saw on 8 fairway he wrote something and handed you a note. What was that about?”
Shipley replied, “He didn’t.”
“I thought he wrote something and handed you a piece of paper?” the reporter replied.
“No, no. That didn’t happen.” The amateur said.

Well then. There you have it. A piece of paper was never exchanged between Tiger Woods and Neil Shipley.

Brandel Chamblee surprises fans by heaping praise on ‘intellectual earthquake’ Bryson DeChambeau at the Masters
Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee has been critical of LIV Golf and it’s players, but at last week’s Masters, praised LIV player Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau raced out to the first-round lead with an incredible performance in difficult conditions, and Chamblee took notice.
“When it comes to golf, he’s an intellectual earthquake that transforms itself into this athletic majesty. Every single move, from taking hole to the club to the way his hands fit on the club, to the way his arms are shaped, has purpose. His purpose is to hit it nine miles – but these are laser-guided missiles.”

DeChambeau made some costly mistakes, with one in particular coming on Sunday where the former U.S. Open champion made a double-bogey at the par-5 15th.
Bryson ended up finishing T5 for the week, which was his best ever performance at The Masters.
