In-hand photos of Scottie Scheffler’s new Scotty Cameron custom mallet putter

Published

After winning four times in 2022 with a Scotty Cameron Special Select Tour Type GSS prototype blade putter, it appears world No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler is making a drastic putter switch at the 2022 CJ Cup.

On Tuesday at Congaree Golf Club, we spotted Scheffler with a new Scotty Cameron T-5.5 Proto mallet putter, with custom engravings on the toe and heel portions.

According to Scotty Cameron rep Brad Cloke, Scheffler has a similar putter at home, and he felt his starting lines were a bit better than his previous blade.

The new putter has three alignment lines at address, specific face millings to match the feel of his old GSS putter, and Cloke said Scheffler is all-in on the putter this week after receiving the new putter last week.

Check out more photos of Scheffler’s new Scotty Cameron putter here.

Starting lines matter not if your aimline is a misread. Only one putter corrects that, and it is at eBay P&SI EGOS is the magic formula.

I like it, the design is good because tge blade is relatively short and the rails at those angles do two tings they direct the eyes to the center of the putter and structurally direct the force created as tge putter is stroked to tge center as well. I would love to have one!

I hope it works out for him. I switched from a NP2 to a 5.5 and struggled mightily. Switched back to my NP2 and my handicapped dropped back down.

Does this sort of thing ever end up well? The number 1 player in the world, winning essentially everything, changing putters for no good reason?

WITB Time Machine: Paul Casey’s winning WITB, 2019 Valspar Championship

Published

on

At the 2019 Valspar Championship, Englishman Paul Casey took the trophy at the Copperhead Course for the second year in a row. On a difficult Sunday, Casey’s 1-over 72 was good enough for a one-stroke victory over Louis Oosthuizen and Jason Kokrak as Dustin Johnson faltered.

Check out Casey’s clubs from five years ago below.

Driver: TaylorMade M4 (10.5 degrees)

3-wood: TaylorMade M1 (15 degrees)

Shaft: Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 120 X

Putter: Scotty Cameron Circle T 350-SSS
Grip: Scotty Cameron Matador

Grips: Golf Pride ZGrip Cord Midsize

Golf Ball: Titleist Pro V1

Mizuno’s Senior Club Engineer, Chris Voshall told us Casey’s somewhat surprising setup in his long irons is simply the product of Casey hitting the windows he wants to with the particular clubs in question.

“It’s all based on the height of the ball flight,” Voshall said. The MP-25 3-iron was more penetrating and better for him off the tee, so he kept it in there.”
