Report: PGA Tour pro says he wants to ‘punch Talor Gooch in the face’

Published

on

Tensions are high in professional golf.

The LIV Golf players who have elected to leave the PGA TOUR have left many of their former colleagues steaming.

Alan Shipnuck, in his “Firepit Collective“, spoke with Talor Gooch recently. Shipnuck regards Gooch as “the face” of the PGA TOUR Vs. LIV. He also calls Gooch a “god-fearing country boy who is intelligent enough to have been his high school valedictorian”.

The reason Gooch’s decision to leave the PGA TOUR was so highly scrutinized was because he didn’t fit the mold of the other players who had preceded him.

Prior to Gooch’s departure, the narrative surrounding LIV Golf was that it was a tour for washed up players with their best golf long behind them. Once Gooch decided to leave, the floodgates opened for younger players such as Abraham Ancer, Carlos Ortiz, and eventually the Champion Golfer of the Year Cameron Smith.

Gooch made things even more uncomfortable when he compared the atmosphere at LIV Portland to a Ryder Cup (which he’s never played in). The comments were joked about by plenty of PGA TOUR players and didn’t help the way Gooch was perceived.

Matters got worse when Gooch then decided to tee it up at Wentworth for the DP World Tour’s “flagship” event in search of Official World Golf Ranking Points. This drew criticism from players like Shane Lowry, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm and Billy Horschel. All of which had questions as to why Gooch should be able to play the event when he had never supported the DP World Tour throughout his career.

All of these factors have added up to make Gooch the face of all that is wrong with LIV Golf in the eyes of those who oppose the Saudi-backed series.

According to Shipnuck, one anonymous PGA TOUR player recently said,

“He always seemed like a nice guy, but now I just want to punch him in the face.”

Gooch is seemingly unbothered by the criticism thus far, saying to Shipnuck “It was funny. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”

After winning the BMW PGA at Wentworth, Shane Lowry exclaimed “another win for the good guys!”

After the Four Aces team victory at LIV Chicago, Gooch shot back.

With Gooch currently involved in a lawsuit against the PGA TOUR, I don’t expect cooler heads to prevail anytime soon.

Yeah, I have a few co workers Id like to punch in the face, I don’t have the control either so I just punch them. Then I fill they’re protein shakes and lunches with my fecal matter, blood, and other excretions. Especially the ones that do the same thing I do, but get paid more. I believe some call it jealousy, but I just call it rage. Seems normal logical adult behavior. All while being nude.

These middling PGA Pros can’t hide their envy of the LIV guys cashing those big checks.

Being a slag is a lifetime stain on one’s legacy. Not as much envy as you think there is except by the LIV slags.

Last I checked it was the LIV fools suing the PGA Tour, not the other way around. LOL!

Tiger Woods reveals the best celebrity foursome he’s ever played with

Published

on

With Capital One’s The Match set to take place this weekend, Tiger Woods was asked about the best celebrity foursome that he’s ever played a round with.

Tiger replied:

“[John] Smoltz, [Tom] Glavine and [Greg] Maddux when they were all pitching with the Braves. That was epic. I shot 62, 62 and lost money.”

The three pitchers combined to win seven National League Cy Young Awards in the 1990s and led the Atlanta Braves to a World Series win in 1995.

The 15-time major champion was also asked what his “dream foursome” would be, to which he replied: “It wouldn’t be a foursome. It would be my dad, myself and Charlie.”

Tiger’s father, Earl, passed away in 2006 and his son, Charlie, was born in 2009.

Former NBA star turned college golfer J.R. Smith taking lessons from Tiger’s ex-coach

Published

on

Former NBA player J.R. Smith is now taking golf lessons from Tiger Woods’ former coach, Chris Como.

The lessons can be seen on the new show “Private Lessons” on the premium subscription of GolfPass.

Of his lessons with Como, Smith said, “For me, I think the most appealing part (about taking a lesson from Como) was about like how fast the transition for him to understand. Like, obviously, everybody doesn’t think the same,” he added, “but to make to feel certain sensations in the golf swing.”

The two-time NBA Champion made $90 million as a basketball player but signed an NIL deal as a golfer in early 2022.

In addition to working with Tiger Woods and Smith, Como has also worked with Bryson DeChambeau, who won the 2020 U.S. Open under his guidance.

LIV pro’s wife takes vicious swipe at Tiger Woods over his car accident

Published

on

It’s been a year of drama and controversies in the golfing world, with the divide between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf showing no signs of improving.

Much of the bad blood between the two has played out off the course, and that is once again the case this week, as the wife of prominent LIV golfer Pat Perez, Ashley, took a vicious swipe at Tiger Woods over his single-car accident in 2021.

On Tuesday, Golf Balling shared a video on its Instagram account where Woods described his physical limitations following his car crash. In the comments, Ashley Perez decided to share her take, saying:

“Literally why driving under the influence is ILLEGAL. I don’t feel bad for him. Thank god he didn’t kill anyone. See ya.”

The comment has since been deleted, and it is not the first time Ashely has targeted PGA Tour golfers either. Back in September, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele and their respective partners took a trip to the Napa Valley, which they posted on Instagram.

However, the trip apparently did not impress Mrs Perez, who shared, before once again deleting, her take on the vacation:

It’s been a wild year for the Perez’s on and off the course. The 46-year-old LIV pro earned $8,024,167 with the breakaway tour in 2022, primarily thanks to being part of the 4 Aces GC team.

While off the course, Perez spoke about his deep ‘hate’ for Phil Mickelson, accusing Lefty of committing an “uncrossable and unforgivable act” against him.

Following this latest drama, it’s likely safe to say that any relationship Perez once had with Tiger may well now be a thing of the past.
