Phil Mickelson brutally heckled on opening hole of latest LIV event

It’s been a tumultuous year for Phil Mickelson, with the six-time major champion facing severe backlash for his admission that he used the Saudi-backed LIV Series as leverage against the PGA Tour before eventually defecting to the breakaway tour.

In between came a self-exile from the game, and since his return, things haven’t gone very smoothly, with the 52-year-old looking wildly out of sorts on the course.

On Friday, one of the most popular golfers of all time (at least until 2022) suffered the ignominy of having to back off on his opening tee shot after being heckled.

Stepping up to his opening shot of the day, a spectator shouted, “Do it for the Saudi royal family,” which prompted Mickelson to re-do his routine. He would go on to make bogey on the hole.

The heckle is the latest clear dig at Lefty’s willingness to defect to a breakaway tour which is funded by a Saudi regime with a poor record when it comes to human rights.

Mickelson’s day hasn’t improved much at all either, with the Californian currently 3-over through 14 holes, as Lefty continues to search for any semblance of the magical game he possesses.

The ONE heckler is NOTHING to what Phil will face if he came back to the PGA tour.
The BAD part is; its NOT ALL about Phil JUST going to LIV, its about his out of control ego and MISGUIDED EXTREME leverage he TRIED to use on the PGA.
He did it to HIMSELF; he is the one who by playing BOTH SIDES – he MADE it look like JUST A TOTAL — MONEY GRAB!

To make this ALL MUCH WORSE: it is VERY common knowledge that Phil is extremely wealthy –ALREADY. On tour he and the rest of the players are MORE
than PAMPERED, so this just makes it a VERY OVER THE TOP grab and totally wrong!
Add in other VERY BAD issues- Phil getting OFF the hook for a STOCK OPTIONS play the the SEC — FULLY KNEW Phil was playing it on an INSIDER HELP– after
his SEC interview– they KNEW he had –ZERO IDEA on how to trade OPTIONS – even in a BASIC manner–that MADE it obvious and then catching the guy who was
REALLY behind the scheme — just put Phil in a very bad spot!
They let him off on TECHNICALITY — or PHIL would STILL be in trouble!

Then, lets ADD in the — MASSIVE GAMBLING losses! That is totally out of control!

These 2 SERIOUS problems; and yet Phil and he life, has still never been better– financially!
He is showing a very ugly side of himself and extreme “guilded life behavior”
that makes it look like he can make MORE than $40 mil in mistakes and NOT CARE at all!
No matter how much money you have, that kind of behavior does NOT sit well
with people and ESPECIALLY in times when there is a LOT of peoples lives who are struggling!

Isn’t LIV catering to this sort of antisocial golf gallery behavior? They are encouraging a stadium atmosphere; piped-in recorded music throughout the round; use of the slogan “Golf, only louder”; a generalized stadium atmosphere. LIV is openly catering to an anti-traditional audience.

So really, in the end; yes there are repulsive things going on at LIV events. Pretty much all of them (including the heckling, the political protests, and the crowd chants of “Let’s go Brandon”) were planned and/or foreseeable. They are all a result of the many choices made by LIV executives and promoters.

Are these hypocrites showing up at NBA games shouting about the slave labor in China crafting
LeBron’s shoes, allowing him and others to make millions off their backs? Do they care about the Chinese open market for human organs sliced from living
political prisoners and sold to the highest bidder? Are they aware that the CCP has openly and
frequently declared it’s ultimate goal of militarily and culturally dominating the USA within the
next decade? Why aren’t the so called journalists and commentators wringing their hands and hopping
on media sites with their virtue signaling about this far greater issue and concern? Meanwhile, virtually every PGA corporate sponsor has huge investments in Saudia Arabia. Check it out whiners.

First off, Gianni, why can’t you even get the quote right? You say one thing in your piece, while the heckler clearly says SOMETHING ELSE.

Second, it’s easy to say that “well, what about all the U.S. companies doing business with The Kingdom” or “well, we buy Saudi oil, don’t we?” Sadly, you’re COMPLETELY missing the point. By accepting the Saudi money, golfers such as Mickelson become “ambassadors” for the Saudi royal family, their well-known personnas now helping “sportswash” the many, many human rights abuses carried out by MBS and his henchman. These dummies have taken the stance that “Gee… I’m only a golfer” while emphasizing that they’re willing to overlook any injustice AS LONG AS THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

I guess shouting, “in the hole” or “you da man” or “mashed potatoes” or “babba-bouy” has already been said? Phil got 200 MILLION DOLLARS to play golf at age 52. And the heckler, after his 15 seconds of fame has disappeared, will go back to his insignificant life.

Do you know what OPEC is? Do you understand how crude oil works and what actually controls the prices? I hate Biden, but he needed to go… we need crude back around 50 and give us a desperately needed break. Crude will make or break inflation. We need Biden to do anything he can to get OPEC to ramp up pumping more and more oil. We need us oil companies to stop holding us hostage and also get those pumps a movin!

We need the saudis. More than we need Biden or Trump or anyone else you think makes a difference.

Maybe if we give them their golf tour they will reward us everyday people with our lives back to livable prices times? Put LIV on tv now!!! Come on fox, let trump max the whole thing, golden!

Funny how Biden voters can’t figure out that the PGA tour does business in China and also has 23 sponsors that do over 40 billion a year in business in Saudi Arabia. Biden voters also can’t figure out what bathroom to use either. Biden voters support the “pro choice” position and can’t seem to figure out how to use birth control correctly. Maybe it’s too inconvenient for them? They also think that a 25-year-old adult shouldn’t be responsible for student loans that they took out, but expect us to pay off their loans. In addition, they think that a 13-year-old is responsible enough to vote and that 4-year old “adults” can change their gender during pre-school recess.

Augusta National chairman personally instructed players not to play LIV events, lawsuit claims

More interesting information continues to surface from the 105-page lawsuit filed by the “LIV 11” on Wednesday.

According to the court documents, Augusta National Golf Club allegedly attempted to persuade golfers to not join LIV Golf.

“Augusta National, the promoter of The Masters, has taken multiple actions to indicate its alignment with the PGA Tour, thus seeding doubt among top professional golfers whether they would be banned from future Masters Tournaments,” the document states.

“As an initial matter, the links between the PGA Tour and Augusta National run deep. The actions by Augusta National indicate that the PGA Tour has used these channels to pressure Augusta National to do its bidding. For example, in February, 2022 Augusta National representatives threatened to disinvite players from The Masters if they joined LIV Golf.”

Greg Norman has consistently claimed that he’s attempted to reach out to Jay Monahan and ANGC Chairman Fred Ridley, but to no avail.

The lawsuit claims that the major championships has been a strong deterrent preventing players from joining LIV Golf.

“The threat of exlcusion from the Masters (and other majors) is a powerful weapon in the Tour’s arsenal to deter players from joining LIV Golf”.

While none of the majors have yet banned LIV players from playing in their events, they’ve spoken out in opposition to the breakaway golf league.

Adam Hadwin made the wrong comment over his wife’s outfit…and he’s now paying the price

World ranked number 84, Adam Hadwin, is well known in golf circles for having a lighter approach to the game.

The Canadian has a Twitter bio that reads, “living the dream a day at a time!” and often posts about his family life and honest views on his current game.

However, despite having 30,000 fewer followers on the social media site, his wife Jessica is the one making more noise with some of her posts over the last few months.

We’ve had a clip of daughter Maddox’s reaction to her father’s hole-in-one at the Memorial, and the hilarious tweet regarding flat packed furniture, just two days after his best-ever finish in a major — tied-seventh at the U.S. Open.

However, she may well have trumped the lot with the revelation of her husband’s reaction to her new outfit:

Jessica is also unimpressed with the reaction of Team Adam, tweeting, “The best part (or worst?) was he said it in front of two male employees who proceeded to absolutely trip over themselves trying to run to his defense. Telling me “oh I don’t think he meant it like that…see what he meant was…he just wants to make sure you’re comfortable.”

It wasn’t long ago that fellow PGA Tour player Adam Schenk found that roasting your wife in public does not pay dividends, and you may think lessons were learned from that. It appears not.

Hadwin’s current status:

Good luck, Ad.

Jessica Korda in contention at Women’s Open despite having to wear borrowed clothes!

Month after month, we read of golfers turning up at courses without their clubs. Almost every time it is down to their chosen airline ‘misplacing’ them, and leading to the players having to beg or borrow a set, or have their sponsor or manufacturer get them a spare set with urgency.

It isn’t often we read of players losing their clothes!

After yesterday’s first round 5-under 66, Jessica Korda revealed she had been wearing borrowed clothes all week whilst waiting for the return of her suitcase, stuck in transit, in Zurich. Whilst she travelled via Switzerland to Muirfield, some of her clothes did not.

On 31st July, Korda tweeted her plea to Swiss International Air Lines:

After the four-birdie, one-eagle round, the six-time LPGA Tour winner pleaded she was still seeking a reunion with her luggage.

“If anyone knows anyone at the Zurich airport that would like to put my suitcase on the one flight a day that they have coming into Edinburgh, I’d deeply appreciate it,” she said.

“I know where it is. I have an air tag on it. I can’t get anyone to actually go get it,” she explained.

The current Rolex #14 then credited her benefactors. “Monday I wore Megan Khang’s pants. Tuesday, I wore my sister’s pants and Wednesday I wore Alison Lee’s pants. And today I’m wearing FootJoy pants.”

Anything else missing besides the pants?

“Sponsor’s hats,” she said. “Wearing a Muirfield hat right now. A lot of my warm stuff. My hand warmers. My hands get really cold, so I wear gloves all the time. I’ve got a lot of heat patches for my lower back and my vitamins. Don’t have that.”

The episode may well have given her some impetus for the tournament.

“I gave up on it (the case) by Wednesday,” she said. “If it comes here, great, but if not, it is what it is. At this point,I’m playing a golf tournament.”

Despite all that, Korda is well positioned to have her best finish in 11 tries at the Women’s British Open, the best so far being a tied-fifth at Birkdale in 2014.

“You have to stay on it here at all times,” said Korda of the tough course.

“It’s links golf. I swear, every time we come to Scotland, it’s just like the same stuff. You’ve just got to be really prepared and take it for what it is.”
