Cam Smith not happy with reporter over LIV questions following Open win

Published

on

After one of the greatest Open Championship performances in one of the most monumental tournaments in the history of the sport, Australian Cam Smith was immediately faced with a question that no professional golfer wants to be asked these days.

Will you be joining LIV Golf?

“Cam, apologies for having to bring this up in these circumstances, but your name continues to be mentioned, has been mentioned to me this week about LIV golf. What’s your position? Are you interested? Is there any truth to suggestions that you might be signing?” Asked the reporter.

Cam wasn’t pleased with the question. “I just won the British Open, and you’re asking about that. I think that’s pretty not that good,” an agitated Smith replied.

Unsurprisingly, the response didn’t deter the reporter from following up on the question.

“I appreciate that, but the question is still there. Are you interested at all? Is there any truth in that?”

“I don’t know, mate. My team around me worries about all that stuff. I’m here to win golf tournaments,” Smith replied.

On Monday morning, Smith did however reveal the answer to the question of how many beers would fit inside the Claret Jug after a night of well deserved celebration.

btw; his answer ultimately was “I don’t know.”

Which will be an interesting answer if in the next 24-48 hours, he announces a deal with LIV.

How many Chinese citizens perpetrated the largest terrorist attack on US soil ever? Oh that’s right, none. People like you would sell out your own mother for a bag.

Jo jo stop already quit lying to yourself. Ever hear of the Chinese Uyghurs? Educate yourself dude. Modern day slavery still going on forced labor in their slave camps. Go visit if you can afford the plane ticket, educate yourself. Don’t throw stones from your cardboard box

Sounds like modern day slavery in America. 13% of Americans are black and yet the majority of inmates in prisoner are black. Most of them serving sentences for non violent offenses. Still they get 20 yrs in prison for drug possession. Wake up dude. This America. 60 yrs ago congress refused to sign a civil rights bill that included abolishing police brutality. Americans are blind. Let these people make a living playing golf and stop making it political. The terrors are on every soil.

David, why does that 13% commit 56% of violent crime in the US yet only make up 20% of the fatal police shootings? Must be all the racist police officers. Smh. Just listen to your CNN and get tf out of here with your misinformation.

David has never been to the ghetto. Those thoughts would change quick. He’d be lucky to make it out with his hubcaps, wife, and sneakers.

The reporter’s questions were completely valid.

It never ceases to amaze me; how much professional athletes (who are used to constantly promoting products and other things in friendly adulatory surroundings, and who are really not used to answering hard questions about controversial subjects) freak out when confronted with the most obvious and straight forward questions that aren’t part of building that athlete’s personal brand.

Tiger Woods reveals the best celebrity foursome he’s ever played with

Published

on

With Capital One’s The Match set to take place this weekend, Tiger Woods was asked about the best celebrity foursome that he’s ever played a round with.

Tiger replied:

“[John] Smoltz, [Tom] Glavine and [Greg] Maddux when they were all pitching with the Braves. That was epic. I shot 62, 62 and lost money.”

The three pitchers combined to win seven National League Cy Young Awards in the 1990s and led the Atlanta Braves to a World Series win in 1995.

The 15-time major champion was also asked what his “dream foursome” would be, to which he replied: “It wouldn’t be a foursome. It would be my dad, myself and Charlie.”

Tiger’s father, Earl, passed away in 2006 and his son, Charlie, was born in 2009.

Former NBA star turned college golfer J.R. Smith taking lessons from Tiger’s ex-coach

Published

on

Former NBA player J.R. Smith is now taking golf lessons from Tiger Woods’ former coach, Chris Como.

The lessons can be seen on the new show “Private Lessons” on the premium subscription of GolfPass.

Of his lessons with Como, Smith said, “For me, I think the most appealing part (about taking a lesson from Como) was about like how fast the transition for him to understand. Like, obviously, everybody doesn’t think the same,” he added, “but to make to feel certain sensations in the golf swing.”

The two-time NBA Champion made $90 million as a basketball player but signed an NIL deal as a golfer in early 2022.

In addition to working with Tiger Woods and Smith, Como has also worked with Bryson DeChambeau, who won the 2020 U.S. Open under his guidance.

LIV pro’s wife takes vicious swipe at Tiger Woods over his car accident

Published

on

It’s been a year of drama and controversies in the golfing world, with the divide between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf showing no signs of improving.

Much of the bad blood between the two has played out off the course, and that is once again the case this week, as the wife of prominent LIV golfer Pat Perez, Ashley, took a vicious swipe at Tiger Woods over his single-car accident in 2021.

On Tuesday, Golf Balling shared a video on its Instagram account where Woods described his physical limitations following his car crash. In the comments, Ashley Perez decided to share her take, saying:

“Literally why driving under the influence is ILLEGAL. I don’t feel bad for him. Thank god he didn’t kill anyone. See ya.”

The comment has since been deleted, and it is not the first time Ashely has targeted PGA Tour golfers either. Back in September, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele and their respective partners took a trip to the Napa Valley, which they posted on Instagram.

However, the trip apparently did not impress Mrs Perez, who shared, before once again deleting, her take on the vacation:

It’s been a wild year for the Perez’s on and off the course. The 46-year-old LIV pro earned $8,024,167 with the breakaway tour in 2022, primarily thanks to being part of the 4 Aces GC team.

While off the course, Perez spoke about his deep ‘hate’ for Phil Mickelson, accusing Lefty of committing an “uncrossable and unforgivable act” against him.

Following this latest drama, it’s likely safe to say that any relationship Perez once had with Tiger may well now be a thing of the past.
