Do Miura irons outperform the rest? – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Miura irons and their performance. WRXer ‘LowAndLeft32’ wants to know if Miura irons are head and shoulders above the rest, kicking off the thread by saying:

“I often see discussion on the feel of Muira’s, especially vs Mizzys. But from a true performance standpoint are Muira’s T the top, worth the price, lead to improvement in ball striking, or lower scores?

It would be great to find a truly great iron that shows that it’s head and shoulders above the rest. Is Muira it? Will these irons stay in the bag for a while? I played many different sets over the last five years, and I haven’t found any irons that differ materially from another.”

And our members have been sharing their thoughts on the matter in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • lefthack: “No. No club is magic. Some play better than others for others. Would my dream Miura set play better than my KZG’s? Doubt it, but they look good. Not $2800 good, but you know. Some folks feel a difference, some folks hit a cast club without issues. Will YOU feel a difference? Only you can answer that one.”
  • Nessism: “Miura irons are impeccably crafted and have a somewhat unique feel. They bring pleasure to those that like them but, they won’t lower your score compared to a similar iron.”
  • Avidswampthing66: “It’s totally a matter of preference. They (Miura) look AMAZING, and to me, they feel deep and thuddy. If you’re into that, then you’re going to love them. I play the MC-501’s, and I’ve never felt an iron like it…they aren’t soft like Srixon or Mizuno.”
  • dongodfrey: “It’s the Porsche vs the Ferrari question; both do the same thing. The CB 501 were amazing, but so were Callaway JDM legacy blacks, probably the best iron feeling wise I’ve ever hit, But many, many, many would disagree. It’s just personal preference, really.”

Entire Thread: “Do Miura irons outperform the others?”

“Well my WRX friends, it’s been a wild ride! Over the last 12 months I’ve owned 60 different clubs, sold 44, and bought/sold/returned 9 bags to get to this end result!

I’ve learned not to say that I won’t change anymore clubs, so instead I’ll say that I feel really good about this setup after getting a fitting last month, and all the trial & error has led to a bag I feel really good about now!”

Get submitting your WITB in our forum as we’ll be publishing more and more of them on our front page over the coming days and weeks.

Feel free to make it your own too by including some thoughts on your setup, your age, handicap, etc. Anything you feel is relevant!
