WRX Spotlight: PuttView’s: The Book

Product: PuttView’s: The Book
Pitch: From PuttView: “The best yardage and green maps in golf. Every detail of ‘The Book’ was designed to help you save a shot under the most critical tournament situations. PuttView’s technology and attention to detail results in the most accurate book allowable under the Rules of Golf.”
Our take on PuttView’s: The Book
When it comes to yardage and green maps, there are quite a few options on the market, but when it comes to detail, layout and practicality, PuttView’s ‘The Book’ is certainly up there with the best.
The new yardage and green books were created by PuttView’s founder Christoph Pregizer, and have burst on to the scene since last summer. Working with Phil Kenyon, arguably the best putting coach in the world, PuttView’s books have taken his knowledge and combined it with top of the range technology that will aid all golfers.
The Book offers green maps for more than 8,000 courses and yardage books for 30,000+ layouts worldwide. Each book provides two views of each green, including an easy-to-read thermal image that uses color to quickly allow players to see ridges in greens and possible hole locations.
The detailed view supports green-reading with arrows and contours shown at the maximum level allowed within the rules of golf, in design to help players quickly process information to make more putts.
Speaking on ‘The Book’, Christoph Pregizer, PuttView’s founder and managing director said
“Our team worked tirelessly to create a yardage book and greens map that would set a new industry standard, and we did it.The early success we’ve seen at the amateur, collegiate and professional levels has been gratifying, but this is just the beginning. We believe ‘The Book’ will become golf’s most popular yardage book and greens map for the game’s most serious players.”
The Books feature images and distance (in yards) for both carry and runout, penalty to penalty width, tee to fairway and fairway to green elevation change to make sure you are removed of any doubt before striking your next shot on the course.
The yardage information also features fairway arrows when slope exceeds 4 percent, carry and runout distances, elevation change and distance rings.
The fully USGA legal books measure 6.5″x 3.75″ are printed on high quality waterproof paper and fit perfectly inside a traditional yardage book cover.
“I’ve been involved with PuttView over the last four years, and I’ve really come to trust their expertise and know-how. When they approached me to get involved with the book project, I had absolutely no reservations. Alongside their cutting edge technology and using my experience as a Tour coach, I believe we have put together the most detailed yardage book that is available on the market.” – Phil Kenyon
The books cost $49 for both the yardage and green map and $29 should you only want the yardage book.
At the price, and with the technology and information provided, as well as the influence from one of the world’s best putting coaches – PuttView’s ‘The Book’ is certainly worth checking out for any serious golfers looking for an extra edge out on the course.

Pros are just like us: Putting practice at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational

The great equalizer in the game of golf is putting, and just like every other golfer that plays the game, PGA Tour players are always working to improve their work with the flatstick.
Much like the short game, putting does not require brute strength and generally comes down to simple technique and repeatability. This week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, we spotted a lot of pros on the practice green working hard with all types of training aids trying to improve on just that.

Bryson’s GC Quad meases 400-yard drives and 3-foot putts.

Spieth is always grinding with his favorite Scotty Cameron.

You don’t get to be the 16th ranked player in the world like Matt Fitzpatrick without working hard on your putting.

Kevin Kisner spotted working on core stability

Shane Lowry using the popular “gate” drill

Ian Poulter has been recently searching for a putter—and that pile behind him indicates he’s still looking.

Poulter was even spotted checking in with others around the green

Jason Dufner using the “bellied wedge drill” to help level out his stroke and improve contact.

The Putting Arc is a classic training aid that we continue to see players utilize

The Pelz trainer continues to be one of the most popular tools on tour

Book reading. Walking endlessly around a putt. Aimpoint. Miss a 4 footer. Spend 5 minutes. Priceless!!
