Patrick Reed or Paige Spiranac: Who would you rather have on a GolfWRX podcast?

Published

on

2020 has been an inglorious hellscape of a year on nearly every front—except golf. From rounds played to clubs sold, the industry is absolutely booming.

It’s in the spirit that we at GolfWRX are aiming higher—taking on a 300-yard forced carry, if you will—in the year ahead on several exciting fronts we’re eager to share with you.

While I’m not at liberty to disclose much at this time, I can say: We’re committed to bringing you notable names and power players (of both the on and off-course varieties) on the shows in the GolfWRX podcast arsenal—On Spec, TG2, Gear Dive, and the 19th Hole.

  • So, to the purpose of this admittedly clicky headline: Would you rather listen to Patrick Reed or Paige Spiranac as a guest on one of our shows?

And as a follow-up question, which show? Would you, for example, like to listen to Patrick Reed take a deep dive into his gear on Gear Dive? Or would you prefer to hear Paige Spiranac join Michael Williams on the 19th hole?

Let us know in the comments, and don’t hesitate to pass along additional suggestions for 2021. GolfWRX began as a forum, and in the spirit, we want the front page to be a two-way street as well.

A final word: Considering the possible gasoline-on-a-raging-dumpster-fire nature of the topic in question, please keep your remarks inside the OB stakes.

200 % Patrick. Why would anyone want to talk to Paige ?

Patrick Reed is probably the most polarizing player in all of golf. He’s also a major winner. There is only one Patrick Reed.

Paige looks great in a tight top and short skirt and is a good golfer. There are dozens of Paige Spiranacs.

My vote is for Patty Reed. Ask him some tough questions.

There’s only 2 reasons I would choose her & neither one I’ll ever see in person. Unless Reed will talk about something relevant (i.e. past ‘discrepancies’) not interested much in him either.

Don’t really understand all the hate directed at Spiranac. I’m not crazy about the Instagram-golfer-babe thing either, but she’s not a hack, can beat most of you guys, isn’t a cheater, and isn’t an a-hole rightly hated by a huge percentage of other players.

Which makes this no choice at all, especially given the fact that almost anybody on the planet would be better than a guy who could be the most punchable tour player and [cough] major champion anybody’s ever seen.

You said hate. Instant fail there, sjw soyboy.

She is not going to sleep with you.

Neither. Don’t care what they have to say. Just watching sports or listen to musicians do their thing, don’t care about the rest. Their thoughts or private lives are no interest of mine.

So many dcks replying to this. ‘Reed cheats’. Who cares??? Have him on and ask him about it. Maybe we don’t want Tiger on cause he cheated on his wife? Yeah, just what I thought. Grow up people.

    Neither one…..

Patrick Reed is a disputed, but still good golfer, and asked the right questions surely a good conversationalist.

Paige is a real disservice to golf, standing for infinite superficiality, representing everything
a female (or male) golfer should not be. Her Instagram account is my
first choice when I want to show friends whats wrong with social media

  9. JimBo Balloon

    Dec 16, 2020 at 5:02 pm

This option choice equates to would you rather get kicked in the left or right ball?

    I’ll take neither please!!!

  10. Tim

    Dec 16, 2020 at 1:13 pm

Paige is someone I use as an example to my 16 year old daughter – don’t become this.

Spiranac, Reed, 302 yard 8 irons??? Tomorrow, I expect I will see an interview asking Bigfoot if he prefers blades or CBs. Is GOLFWRX in such a bad way that they need to produce this garbage???

    Dec 15, 2020 at 7:26 pm

I would much rather read an ob dumpster fire than an interview of either…

  13. Bill Jordan

    Dec 15, 2020 at 5:40 pm

Can’t imagine Spiranic would have a thing to say that I’d remotely care about, so it would have to be Reed.

  14. The Man

    Dec 15, 2020 at 1:22 pm

Of course Reed. It’s a golf site. Frankly I’d rather hear Paige Mackenzie. She was a very good analyst during the Women’s Open.

    • Mike

      Jan 1, 2021 at 11:33 am

I watched all 4 rounds…at times she talked too much. If/when she learns ‘less sometimes can be more’ she’d be much more watchable.

  15. Little J

    Dec 15, 2020 at 9:33 am

How about a podcast featuring reeds Georgia teammates. I would love to hear more details about his sticky fingers or questionable ball finding in qualifying rounds. Hide your wallets and Scotty Cameron putters Reed is coming into the locker room.

  16. Sea-Hawks

    Dec 15, 2020 at 9:23 am

If I HAD to pick one it would be Reed and that’s saying a great deal. I’m not a fan of the person from what the media has shown me, but I respect the game and ability to play well…aside from a couple of ‘cheating’ incidents. NO desire to watch or hear Paige.

If I had an actual choice I would pick neither. Get me Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Pat Perez or a colourful character to listen to.

  17. matthew queree

    Dec 14, 2020 at 5:12 pm

I would say Paige or neither…Reed is a cheat and deserves no airplay whatsoever

  18. Marsh

    Dec 14, 2020 at 2:04 pm

A Paige Spiranac deep dive analysis of Ben Hogan’s “Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf”, or a Patric Reed critique of the upcoming LuluLemon spring fashion line would be equally riveting.

  19. Steve O

    Dec 14, 2020 at 12:09 pm

Have you ever tried to listen to her Podcast? It’s cringingly horrible, predictably pandering and quite boring — fits the “Looks Good Sounds Bad” meme. By far Patrick Reed would be more interesting to LISTEN to. If you’re talking Videocast with the sound off I’d have a different answer.

A Major champion vs. a woman who’s IG famous for, realistically, one reason and one reason only.

      *Two reasons

    • Tim

      Dec 16, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Agree. PS is everything that is wrong with our current hypocritical society. She is fake, a sellout. Her audience is immature horny men and boys.

what she does is not appropriate or respectable there is no merit in how she appeals to her audience. I use Paige as an example to my 16 year old daughter – do not become this.

    Dec 14, 2020 at 6:37 am

Reed obviously, why would we want to hear from some bimbo?

    • emncaity

      Dec 26, 2020 at 4:30 pm

Right now I’m reading a bimbo talking about how he’d rather hear a cheater and a-hole, so there ya go.

  22. Nick

    Dec 14, 2020 at 3:54 am

Both would be great! But if I had to choose I’d say Paige.

  23. Guia

    Dec 13, 2020 at 9:18 pm

Reed is a cheat, should not get any attention.

Page is very pretty, but I doubt has anything interesting to say, she is not on the tour. Pretty women having pod shows are already a-plenty. I wish her success, but not interested in seeing her on a pod.

    • Bill

      Dec 13, 2020 at 9:25 pm

Totally agree that Reed is a cheat and Paige is humble, gorgeous, talented and honest!

    Neither

If rather LISTEN to Patrick. He’s been a “free agent” in the golf world for a couple years now and has had the opportunity to sample every manufacturer out there. I’d rather WATCH Paige, because what guy wouldn’t.

  28. Richard Reich

    Dec 13, 2020 at 6:17 pm

Paige! Not only is she easy on the eyes, I’ve learned and improved sooo much from her golf tips and view at certain things. Yes, she’s smoking but she’s also a great teacher of breaking down things into different ways of looking at shots. She beautiful and talented. She’s very relatable and honest which you don’t see much of these days.

  29. You crushed it

    Dec 13, 2020 at 5:34 pm

How about hearing from both, Patrick is such a great competitor and Paige has a realistic a refreshing view of why she is famous

I agree with the look at Paige and listen to Patrick comments

I want to hear about Patrick’s tips on how to cheat without getting caught.

I would want to talk to or watch a fine woman not some dude.who knows i just might get luckly

  36. Dwight L. Cramer

    Dec 13, 2020 at 10:50 am

Spiranac. She’s an interesting person. Reed is merely controversial.

Look at it this way, yeah, she’s eye candy, but she’s got brains and something in terms of character that attract attention. That’s positive attention, not the kind of attention he gets.
Take away the ability to win at the highest levels (which is sort of irrelevant for a commentator), and what’ve you got? Without it, she’s making a living out of golf. Without it, he’d be lucky to keep a job as an assistant pro at a decent club.

By all means have him on a podcast for a gear dive. But she’d be worth a tryout as a regular.

If the questionn is who i would rather watch, it’s Paige. If it’s who i would rather listen to, it’s Patrick

      Dec 13, 2020 at 11:38 am

100 percent dead on and agree. Watch Paige, listen to Reed.

I don’t want to hear either of them. But I’d watch paige eat a sandwich. Video, Paige, on mute, please

    • Jacques Porche

      Dec 13, 2020 at 5:26 am

“Watch her eat a sandwich?” -That was hilarious! I agree. Podcast are.ok, but I prefer to be able to see and hear Paige Renee SPIRANAC on TV. Personally, I don’t know why Paige is not with microphone on NFL or College sidelines or filming her roll in the next Bond movie. Sorry guys, I’ve never cared about women’s golf BEFORE Paige but now I want to know all about it and it doesn’t bother me when her sponsors are getting in the way. I believe Paige is the most beautiful and loveable woman in America, unless of course you prefer tattoo-ed butch gals standing in the urinal next to you discussing NFL Defense Cover 2 options. I choose Paige and love seeing her new stuff pop up on my phone.

  44. Three putt par

    Dec 12, 2020 at 9:24 pm

Neither, unless you got either one sauced up and they weren’t aware it was a podcast.

Neither. Order a pizza and interview that guy instead.

  48. Rwj

    Dec 12, 2020 at 6:28 pm

If this is an honest question. A major champion, top 10 world class player…or a pin up girl. Then this is no longer a golf website. You have become the golf channel, all fluff and skirts, very little highlights and numerous commercials. Congratulations, you are officially irrelevant to the game

    • gwelfgulfer

      Dec 13, 2020 at 1:26 am

This, except neither is the answer. Wrx has been going downhill for many years now. The amount of garbage ads and the likes is just icing…

    • emncaity

      Dec 26, 2020 at 4:31 pm

Spiranac is at least neither a cheater nor an a-hole hated by nearly everybody.

Report: Brooks Koepka splits with swing coach Claude Harmon III

Published

on

Brooks Koepka has split with his swing coach Claude Harmon III, bringing to an end their successful 8 year relationship.

GolfWeek broke the news, with the swing instructor revealing in an interview with the publication that he and Brooks were no longer working together.

Per the report, Harmon told GolfWeek that the two parted ways two months ago, three days after the Masters in November: “I was informed on the Wednesday after the Masters that he wanted to go in a different direction.”

Harmon was informed of the split in a face-to-face meeting in Florida, and reached by GolfWeek by text, Koepka told the publication:

“I love Claude, we had a great run, and he’s still family to me, but unfortunately we’re not working together anymore”

Is this the strangest putting stroke ever seen on the PGA Tour?

Published

on

When it comes to putting, we all have our own little quirks and techniques, but during The American Express, one golfer took it to the next level displaying the oddest putting stroke you’ll see for some time.

Mark Hubbard was on his final hole during the second round of the event and knew that he was heading home from the event – comfortably missing the cut.

With that freedom in mind, Hubbard decided to have some fun and faced with a 10-foot putt for par, the 31-year-old hunched over – after doing an Elvis style little move – and placed his pinky just above the hosel.

Check out the bizarre moment here.

Hubbard missed the putt, and it was a moment that had golf fans on the Twittersphere truly baffled.

This is not a putting stroke I can see catching on!
