What GolfWRXers are saying about lower handicap players using SGI irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing whether SGI irons can be advantageous for low handicap players. WRXer ‘Mcc1972’ has recently made the switch and says:

“I’m a 2.7 getting close to 50 years old. Ditching my Titleist CB’s for PXG SGI’s. They look like shovels, but they are a joke to hit. Anyone else?”

And our members have been sharing their thoughts on the subject in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • MilesS: “just put Srixon 545’s in the bag today. Replaced Titleist MB/CB combo. Don’t have a comparison yet but excited to see the difference. Hdcp +.5”
  • Jeffrey r: “I believe someone here recently went with the PXG SGI with success. I dabbled with the SGI, without success. They were simply too large for me, and I could not hit them consistently at all, at least in the 5 and 6 irons that I tried them in.”
  • A.Princey: “I play what lowers my score most. After some really low rounds, my clubs start to look very purrrrty in the bag, regardless of what they are.”
  • SEP1006: “My HCP hovers around 6, and I play the PXG XP’s. Very forgiving and not too big.”
