I have heard that his swing speed tops out at like 105-110mph — anybody else surprised that he has a 9 degree driver with an x-flex.. The reason I ask is that I have about 105-110mph swing speed and use 10.5 degree driver with Stiff flex and never thought that I would qualify for an x-flex.. Should I look into this? I have never been fitted for a driver before, only irons..

It solely depends on how you load the shaft. My club head speed maxes at 105-107 mph and I currently play a 9 degree M5 turned down to 8 degrees with a black HZDRUS 6.5 shaft. I tend to spin it a little too much even with having a positive attack angle of 4-5 degrees. It is all about maximizing distance based on how you load the shaft and deliver the club to the ball. If you were fit for your driver, then you should be good to go. If not, then you may want to see if you are leaving any distance on the table.

WTG BG. Outta take him right onto the Senior Tour in a couple of years. He’ll be a ca$h machine there.

Dam, we need to roll the ball back, the short hitters can’t compete!
