Today from the Forums: “Most comfortable golf shoe for wide feet?”

Published

on

FootJoy Tour X

Today from the Forums, the spotlight is shined on golf shoes for those with broader feet. WRXer, AngryKoreanMan, is on the hunt for the most comfortable golf shoe for wide feet, and our members have been sharing their suggestions on which particular model or brand may fit best.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • beliken: “I would check out Ecco. Shoes fit different for everybody, so try before you buy. Nordstrom could be a good place to get fit.”
  • BB28403: “Adidas all day long! My feet are a bit wider: not an E size but just a bit wider. And Adidas have always fit really well. Drop $125-200 for Boost Adidas golf shoes and spray the white foam area on the bottom with Scotchguard and you will have a pair for years.”
  • SheriffBooth: “The Nike React Vapor 2 from this past season are very roomy. I agree that the rest of the Nike line run narrow, but for me, the React Vapor 2 and the Skechers were the most comfortable for me this past season and I went with the Nike because I preferred the styling. Ecco I can never get to fit correctly – I’m just right in between their 45 and 46 sizes, so they either feel like boats on my feet or are too short. But they are definitely roomy and comfortable.”
  • jnardelean19: “You have to go FJ, go to their site and filter by EXTRA WIDE. I found out that my Nikes were actually 2 sizes too big when I switched to FJ. Now it is the only shoe I wear! They are expensive but so worth it!”
  • Galanga: “Another vote for Skechers wide. I picked up some Mojo Elites in 11W, and they are very comfortable w nice room in the toe box and no annoying seams.”

I have very wide feet. I have tried FootJoy wides and Adidas wides and both are better but not great, especially in the toe-box area. I have tried a bunch of Eccos but didn’t like how rigid they felt. True Linkswear OGs (or OG Premiums) are the best for me. They also feel like slippers and now I have several pairs.

As for spiked shoes I am still looking. Adidas Tour 360s (last year’s model) are the best so far as the leather will have some give. But I just saw that FJ has extra wide shoes, those will be next on the list.

Coolest thing for sale in the GolfWRX Classifieds (5/13/24): Full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs

Published

on

At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.

It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs.

From the seller: (@CaymanS): “During the year of recovery from leg surgery that never quite healed, I was bored.  One thing led to another, and I ended up gradually building/acquiring the individual pieces to complete a set of “Tiger Slam” clubs.  They are what Tiger played to win 4 consecutive majors, which nobody has ever done.  This is not an exact replica of course, but something close that fit me to play a few times per year and experience what Tiger did.  But my bad leg, 4 shoulder tears, and age prevents me from the ball-striking needed to enjoy these to their fullest.  They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since the driver and fairway shafts are regular flex and most players good enough to play these will need to change them, but it’s not a perfect world.  I am not a historian on this stuff, but my research indicates these are the same models Tiger used, with slightly different specs to fit me.

Full set $1,600, or…

…a donation for a Pro Kids fundraiser, or…

Driver: $70

Fairway: $250

Irons: $1,100

Wedges: $100

Putter: $350″

This is the most impressive current listing from the GolfWRX BST, and if you are curious about the rules to participate in the BST Forum you can check them out here: GolfWRX BST Rules
