WITB? The same as every other.
Driver: What’s the difference? You can’t get it and you can’t hit it.
3-wood: ditto
Fairway wood/hybrid: dotto.
Irons: Are you serious? Ditto.
Wedges: not for you, and you can’t get that grind anyway.
Putter: C’mon. Just stop.
Ball: One that’s not good for you, that’s for sure. But you’ll play the one you fished out of a pond, for sure.

Every decade they’ve won and have won 61 majors since the ‘20s. I know I was shocked too.

I’ve been searching for this for years. Maybe they’re just standard built up to midsize? i would think these would kill at retail so not sure why GP wouldn’t make them available if they existed.

Great win for Mr. Woodland,…I laughed every time I saw that Wilson Cortex head cover come off that Ping Driver. Today I was sent a email blast for $100 off a Wilson Cortex driver for $399 instead of $499…Having hit one at a demo day I would wait till it hits $139 (Like the Triton did) and then complain I paid to much.

Congratulations to Gary Woodland – fabulous win!
as for Wilson irons? – (almost) always great stuff – I still play several times a year with my 1967-68 Wilson Staff Dynapower irons and like them as much as anything made today. Sure the loft creep has changed things, but just hit a 5 rather than a 7. Doesn’t hurt my ego that others reached it with a 7 and I needed a 5. As far as I’m concerned, their late 60’s early 70’s offerings are still hard to beat. Remember the bullet-backs?

I have taught short game for years. Now 5 handicappers who lack the skill, and incentive to practice, to hit a 58 degree wedge will buy a 64, and move to an 8 handicap.

Jun 17, 2019 at 9:24 am
Taught who short game? So your saying there is no need for a 64°¿

Jun 17, 2019 at 9:48 am
Tru dat. I moved to a 58 after only using a 56 on course for years. I have a 60 and a 64 and practice with them but just don’t have the consistency I need to game them. My buddies carry 60’s and most of them duff it more than any other club in their bag. Us weekend duffers are deathly afraid of that lower ball flight.

I’ve had one a long while back when I had terrible technique. Still not great now but at least I get consistent contact and know how to use bounce a little. Can’t see why most amateurs would need a 64 as you can just open up a 58 or 60 and flop anything for most situations.

Jun 17, 2019 at 6:42 am
Gary’s deal was for the irons and max incentives if he uses woods, wedges and a Wilson putter.
Still a great win for Wilson and the fact he played the 3i shows how nice these are.
Gary came out on Tour with his nose in the air. But he has turned into (or maybe always was), a great and humble kind of guy.
I said in his WITB I saw him run over to help a guy who fell over at a tourney. Went out of his way to help the man up and shake his hand. Small stuff like that goes a long way!
Awesome Win!!

Congratulations to Gary Woodland for his well deserved 2019 US Open victory!
Sadly, the new “Staff” irons Gary used are RH Only. Does Wilson have any plans to change?
To Johnny Penso-
Wilson made their RH Only “corporate decision” 5 years ago, with the FG Tour 100 Forged iron model. The FG Tour 100 Forged iron was supposed to commemorate, and celebrate Wilson’s 100 years in golf.
Though one can root for Gary, the new Wilson Staff irons, by design, remain RH Only.

Because lefties are only about 10% of the market. So 10% of the market, chasing after 12 or so golf club companies…well you do the math. You’re just not worth it.

Didn’t realize you were with Wilson in 2014
Wilson finally did the math-after taking an unplayable lie.

I hope they have a replacement for the V6’s coming out soon so the price for used ones will drop. Those things have held their value for longer than I expected. Congrats to Gary, good to see Wilson back in the winners circle.

Wilson at the TOP once more, I love it. A throw back to the days when Nicklaus, Palmer, Player, and Trevino ruled the world and WILSON was THE name in golf (and RAM).
With this win and the success with these incredible irons Woodland won with I truly hope this is the catapult they needed to really launch their name back up with the Big Three. The C300 are a great CB and their PMP wedges spin better then some of the more well known options as well. If they can strike gold with a driver/3 wood in the near future…I think they can get to that level again.

Hmmm MacGregor irons dominated the pro your (along with Wilson Staff) Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Tom Weiskopf and Tom Watson(Before he went to Ram) They were in the bags of 59 major winners. RAM?

They are beautiful but don’t feel as good as other irons IMO. Wilson went with 8620 carbon (which PING did too) which is not as soft/muted feeling as 1020/1025. It’s not a world of difference, but to me the Wilson’s felt too firm/clicks for my liking. They are hands down probably the nicest looking blade though and the classic diamond pattern on the face is awesome!

I have been playing with Wilsons for years and way back in the 80s also and have everything since the C100s including the C300 and C300 forged and V6s. Love em all, along with the Triton and Cortex and a set of D7s which the Driver is great. I like the Blades but at my age the CBs are more practical. But I have never had any trouble getting anything Leftie. They are all fine clubs and as a former Teacher and Club Maker are real quality.
