WITB Notes from Callaway

On his Apex Pro 19 Irons

“This week, Schauffele has the new Apex Pro 19 Irons in the bag at Kapalua. Schauffele is particularly fond of these irons – he played with the prototype version of the Apex Pro 19 Irons throughout the end of last season and used them in his WGC win during the fall series. Xander has told Callaway Tour Reps that the weighting through the turf feels great for him, regardless of the course conditions. He also likes the look of the thin topline and the leading edge on the iron, and he’s very comfortable with the distance consistency, the window of the ball flight, and how he can shape shots.”

I agree with previous posters, unless he has a custom black BB, this looks to be the black AD-DI.

Awesome. I like this kid and also like GW. Used to think GW was a prick but saw him help a Vet who had fallen over at a tourney. He was walking by and went over to help te Vet up. Really blew my mind about him. Hope they both have a great season and thanks for the insight guys/Wrx.

That shaft is black, so it can’t be the BB.

He used to game the BB (blue bullet) in his M3, but seems like the AD DI (black colored) was a better option for the Epic Flash SZ head.

Looks like a DI in the driver pic. Is he still using bb? And also his new apex pro irons are the same as the retail ones? Chrome finish?

No offense to this guy but I really wanted to see Woodlands WITB since he’s moved to Wilson.

He has new Wilson yet to be released blades 3-pw, a Ping 400 LST driver, looked like a Cobra 3wd because it had rails on the bottom, unless the new Wilson has rails on it, aWilson driving iron 2 probably the F4 or F5 , can’t remember which, he had Vokey wedges and a Scotty putter. His deal was for only 9 clubs with Wilson. His deal is so fresh he probably hasn’t had time to fail in the woods. I don’t know shaft info but look at previous WITB, the shafts are probably the same as most pros don’t mess with that too much when switching companies. Hope that helps

That sure looked like the sole of a Titleist 3 wood for his second shot on 18 in the fourth round

Spotted: Project X Denali hybrid shaft

Published

on

Project X’s Denali wood shafts have been seen in more and more golf bags this year as we start off the season. As a refresher, Denali Blue is the mid-launch and mid-spin model while Denali Black is for players seeking lower launch and spin.

Denali combines great feel with stability and increased ball speed. Currently, Project X only offers Denali Blue and Black in wood shafts, but we spotted a hybrid shaft in Daniel Berger’s bag at the 2024 Zurich Classic.

The shaft looks to be a Denali Blue 105G – HY in TX flex. No word on details from Project X yet but we can assume that this is a mid-launching shaft that weighs around 105 grams in Tour X-Stiff flex.

Berger has this shaft in his TaylorMade P770 3-iron, likely for some added launch and spin to hold the green from longer distances.

Hopefully, this means we will see some more shafts coming under the Denali name in the future, as I think many of us would like to try one in a hybrid or utility iron!
