GPI: 3,000 years and no change in how we exercise our bodies…until now
EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) training is a highly effective and time-efficient workout that can benefit people of all ages and fitness levels. It involves using a special suit that delivers electrical impulses to the muscles, causing them to contract and work harder than they would during traditional exercise. The Team at Wisdom in Golf has partnered with the Katalyst team, which has sought to bring EMS training at the leisure of your own home. Their ultimate goal is to help everyone develop with this technology at their own pace.
In a recent podcast, we did, with the CEO & Founder of Katalyst, Bjoern Woltermann, set the tone for what the EMS training is all about and what potential it has for every golfer out there, amateur or professional:
[Minute 02:09] “We’re talking about a new way of working out for the first time in 3000 years. Because for 3000 years, if we think about it, the Olympic Games are still the same, right? We wrestle, and we throw things, and we run, and we lift things. You know, it sure to be a rock, and now it’s a little bit more refined, but at the End of the day, we measure how much we can lift over our head. That’s literally what we measure.” – Bjoern Woltermann, CEO & Founder of Katalyst
This technology has been used for decades in physical therapy and rehabilitation settings but is now gaining popularity as a workout tool. One of the main benefits of EMS training is that it allows people to achieve maximum results in minimal time. A 20-minute EMS session can be equivalent to a two-hour traditional gym workout. This is especially beneficial for busy professionals and those with hectic schedules who struggle to find time for exercise.
Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, or improve your overall health, EMS can help you achieve your objectives more efficiently than traditional exercise. Another advantage of EMS training is that it can be customized to suit individual needs and fitness goals. Within a month (Mid-March to Late-April) of utilizing the Katalyst Suit, the team at Wisdom in Golf claims to have seen profound gains in their golf swing, improvement with mind and body connection that is enhanced by the suit, and a better sense of well being.
Here is what Shawn said after using it for a month:
[Minute 35:09] “I did notice in the last week and a half I feel stronger over the ball, and I’m feeling more capable, and that’s, that’s a really fun feel to have for your confidence. So then I proceed to go through my practice session […] my beginning clubhead speed lately has been 102mph-104mph, and I can ramp it up to 110mph-112mph clubhead speed, and that’s pretty much where I have been staying. Last year it was at 114mph clubhead speed”, [35:53],” I haven’t been at 117mph clubhead speed since my 40s, I’m 57 years old, so I ramp it up to 114mph, Wow that’s pretty cool!”,[36:52],” Here I am at a 117mph clubhead speed at 57 years old, and I’m thinking I’m the king of the world right now, and then when I had a nice moment of gratitude, and I thought of you guys {Katalyst Team}.” – Shawn Clement
Furthermore, EMS is low impact and can be adapted to suit all fitness levels, making it an excellent option for people of all ages and abilities. It’s also ideal for those with joint or mobility issues, as the electrical stimulation can be used to target specific muscles without putting additional stress on the joints. Overall, EMS training is a highly effective and versatile workout tool that can benefit every demographic. With its time-saving and customizable approach, it’s no wonder why it’s quickly becoming a popular choice for those looking to achieve maximum results in minimal time.

Greg Norman tied for the biggest choke in Masters history. Winner of the biggest ego award in golf. Not worthy of eating Tiger’s dirty underwear.
That said, who gives a poop what Norman thinks? He has a long history of arrogant self-righteous comments and behavior.
When he shows up in Naples for the annual shootout event the staff at Tiburon has to be paid bonuses to not quit for the week he is around.

I listened to this interview and the discussion about Tiger was what? One Minute or so? Greg Norman spoke about so many other subjects and the headline here focuses on Tiger? Come On Man.

I wonder why the Shark is so dismissive of Tiger Woods. Actually the entrance by Tiger into the game allowed Greg , who was the #1 attraction in pro golf make a graceful exit from the game.
Those who claim a tint of racism colors Greg’s opinion might just be right. And Norman comparing Dustin Johnson to Tiger Woods is preposterous. Yes Dustin is ranked #1 but Tiger was #1 light years beyond the #2 guy. Besides Johnson was a thug from Myrtle Beach, was involved in the murder of some guy, he supplied the bullets to the shooter. A real thug!

good, give tiger all the air-time possible.
the man is a living legend, only rivaled by the likes of michael jordan and wayne gretzky. I love watching him play. I feel privileged to watch him compete again…
95% of the rest of the tour players are nobodies from the web.com tour so who cares.
If tiger is playing well and on the hunt, give the man a fat chunk of airtime! heck, even an obese chunk! Besides, it’s not like they don’t show anybody else PERIOD, Greg is just crying because it’s more of like a 60tiger/40rest split in terms of broadcast time, instead of 90rest(akaboring)/10tiger…yeah, duh tiger is gunna get a nice chunk of broadcast time, that’s kinda how it should be when you have an actual living LEGEND in contention, moron. We’re not just talking about some great player here like a phil mickelson, ernie els or a tom watson, we’re talking about an actual legend in the pure sense of the word, something we very likely won’t see again in our lifetime.
give tiger MORE airtime. ty.

I’m suffering from Tiger Fatigue syndrome. My doctor told me that if Tiger is within sniffing distance of the lead (that is, less than fifteen shots) to not watch the broadcast. It will be like Tiger is the only golfer out there.
I have nothing against Tiger. It’s just the media. I mean, North Korea could lob a nuke at us and the network wouldn’t cut away until Tiger sank his 2-foot tap-in and they showed us eight replays. Honestly!

Hey Gerry Taintgrab,
I have no idea why you are even on this forum. You are a self-described 90s shooting hack who uses your mom’s Adams golf clubs. Please go on another forum and discuss your love of that golfer who used to be known as Tiger. Peace out brah.

As an entertainer: Tiger by a small margin.
As a businessman: Greg hands down.
As a person: Greg by a small margin and that is not saying much.
Steven St Clair
Feb 16, 2018 at 7:07 pm
Tiger’s margin small on entertaining? Maybe if you are counting the entertaining swoons and chokes by Norman as big entertainment. How entertaining is it to watch someone swallow 14 majors, almost always with a unique storyline and often with an amazing shot or 5 vs. watching someone choke away another major.
Tiger hasn’t ever tried as a businessman, hasn’t needed to, so there’s no comparison there.
As a person: that’s just subjective opinion about 2 personalities that we don’t know except through the media lens.
Andrew
Feb 16, 2018 at 9:17 pm
Yet another who knows nothing of Norman’s golf career, especially his international success, other than the ’96 Masters. Norman didn’t need to go into business either, but he did because he has the head and perspective for it. Tiger does not have the sophistication to be successful at business without a lot of outside help. Nevermind that Tiger has ruined his brand with his personal antics over the last 10 years. Norman was apparently smart enough to keep his personal shortcomings more private.
