We spotted Dustin Johnson wearing what looks to be new Adidas Tour360 shoes at the 2017 Northern Trust on Tuesday.

Johnson, who’s currently ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings, has been wearing Adidas’ Tour360 Boost shoes the last few years, which includes his ascension to the world’s top ranking and his first major victory. But when he stepped on the range for the first event of the 2017 FedExCup Playoffs, he was wearing something different from Adidas.

While Adidas is not currently commenting on the new shoes, they look to be an upgraded version of the Tour360 Boost with some slight adjustments. They still look to have Boost technology in the soles, but the toe box looks to be clean, without the seams on the toe for which Tour360 has been known in the past. What do you think about Johnson’s new shoes from Adidas?

Update: 8/23/17

We spotted Johnson wearing a slightly different colorway on Wednesday with blue hits on the Adidas stripes instead of the white stripes pictured above.

All new shoes are a little bit hard on your feet.
Highlighted more so when you are walking miles on rough terrain .

I found 360 Boost shoes very comfy out of the box , but not everyone is the same .

also poor socks can factor in the way the shoes rub away the skin

These shoes are horrible for my feet. I wore a pair for 18 holes and pretty much tore up my feet. Theses are suppose to come out of the box ready. I think not!

For sale: $100.00 last years model size 12, wore once.

I love the comfyness of the shoes. I still hate the fact that a premium pair of shoes like this makes it look like styrofoam is the latest and greatest technology that they have. If i am paying that much for shoes they can at least clean that up.

I hate Boost. It feels like I’m on springs. Uncontrollable springs. I don’t need to jump at the ball. I need shoes that feel steady and keep me planted. I loved the Tour360 without the Boost and would still be playing them–especially if they came with BOA! Those were, truly, the best shoes I ever wore onto a golf course.

Get rid of Boost, bring in BOA, and sign me up for life.

I’ve worn the 360 series for a few years and they keep getting better with each generation, most comfortable shoes I’ve had. And these new ones without the seams is much improved looks wise. Looking forward to a new pair next season I guess.

‘Boost technology’ in golf shoes? Do they increase your height by several inches?

No tape, no solvent: New Golf Pride Concept Helix grip makes installation hassle-free

Published

on

If you have ever wanted to regrip your clubs but didn’t want to deal with the hassle of tape or solvent, Golf Pride has developed a revolutionary system to make regripping easier than ever before with the all-new Golf Pride Concept Helix.

The Concept Helix grip and the simple system used to install it removes the fear factor of installing grips and also brings a new level of accessibility to those that are looking to benefit from the performance advantage of new grips—it also requires zero drying time, meaning you can go from gripping clubs to hitting shots instantly.

To see how it works, check out the video from Golf Pride below.

Golf Pride Concept Helix grip: More details

Golf Pride’s new Concept Helix grip system uses a friction and torque-based installation method that ensures the grips are secure and are installed using a proprietary ‘horn’ device that is included with every order.

“Golf Pride stands at the forefront of innovation in grips, and Concept Helix builds on that legacy as the first-ever twist-on grip technology system. This is the first major new advanced concept to come out of the lab at our new Global Innovation Center in Pinehurst and innovates the installation process, requiring no tape, no solvent, and no drying time. Getting fresh grips on your clubs will be more seamless than ever.”
Greg Cavill – Global Project Engineer / Golf Pride

The other interesting note is that without the need for solvents or tape, the new Concept Helix grips and more environmentally friendly.

“We continue to explore new technologies that benefit golfers, both on and off the course. Concept Helix, in this regard, is this next step in the exploration of best practices for grip installation.”- Brandon Sowell, global director of sales and marketing for Golf Pride

What GolfWRXers are saying about the best small face drivers

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing small face drivers. WRXer ‘Andygolderson’ is on the hunt for a small-headed driver profile and reaches out to fellow members for their suggestions.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • TKS: “Wishon 519 is 415cc. Find a fitter.”
  • ILove2Golf123: “I’d say you couldn’t go wrong with the Titleist TS4i when they are released. I had a TS4, and it was about as small as I’d want to go and I’m very traditional when it comes to drivers. If you want to go super small, you could do Taylormade’s Original One two wood driver option.”
  • PixlPutterman: “I play a TM OO Mini and LOVE it.”
  • EaglesGolf99: “A-Grind Classic 350cc.”
