Brooks is a stud. He bombs it. Yes they find speed slots and the fairways run at a 10 stmp so yes they get big roll out. But just like home runs make baseball fun to watch (for most) bombs off the tee bring in spectators for golf. Btw for the schmuck above complaining about the WITB info being “wrong” you are an idiot. Not everyone is perfect. Plus you don’t pay to read and these articles. Its free for you so you have zero right to whine. Pros try different clubs every week. Not to mention WRX cannot get new updated pics at every friggen event. You know how hard that would be? To make every event and then bug every player every week for new updated pics not to mention breakdowns on their bags? Use your noggin next time man.

Greg: regarding ur comnent regarding why anyone would play mbs except for hubris….
We should ask the top 3 golfers in the world, who all play mbs
    Johnson, matsuyama, and rory.
Just cause u dont get it doesnt mean no one should. U say hubris, i say ignorance

His ball is very interesting… TITLEIST PRO V1X. Interesting to all the Titleist bashers out there because he plays it and gets paid NOTHING. He is not under contract with Titleist at all. He plays it because its the best ball for his game and it just helped him win the U.S. OPEN. Also interesting, the runner-up (Harmon) plays TITLEIST PROV1 and is also not under contract. HHMMMMMMM.

Guy misses like 10 greens in 4 days playing with cavity back irons. Makes you wonder why anyone plays blades other that hubris.

    • Chris

      Jun 19, 2017 at 10:09 am

Did anybody actually claim it’s harder to hit greens with CBs?

    • Brian

      Jun 19, 2017 at 12:55 pm

The 900 Tour are barely a CB

Yeah their butter knifes dude. What are you on about? Like 2.5mm cavity across like a third of the face… get real

Is that the famous (e.g., infamous) 2016 M2 which the USGA quietly requested not be distributed due to CT inconsistencies?

No. It’s the greatest driver ever made

Adam, there’s shelf loads of these clubs at my local golf shop. So what the heck u blabbering about?

  9. JGOLF

    Jun 19, 2017 at 8:13 am

I’m starting to notice the inconsistencies (or errors) in these WITB articles. The main picture and the description of his clubs are not consistent. For example, the main picture shows a 56 degree wedge, but the description of his clubs doesn’t indicate a 56 degree wedge. Also, the main picture shows 3 wood headcovers, but the description only indicates 2 woods headcovers.

I’m losing confidence in these WITB articles. Not that it matters to me because that is not how I buy clubs, but if you are going to publish something, I’d say make sure it is accurate.

      Jun 19, 2017 at 8:20 am

      JGolf,

We photograph the bags of PGA Tour players during practice rounds, when they’re often carrying 15-16 clubs. We then verify what exactly was in their bag for the final round. It’s at that time that we publish/update each Winning WITB, and this was the case with Brooks.

What you are seeing an accurate WITB listing, as well as a real photo of the clubs Brooks was carrying this week at Erin Hills in the practice round. Sometimes the photos and list of clubs don’t match up perfectly, and I hope you now better understand why.

Seems as though he actually had a 16.5 degree 3 wood and a 52, 56, 60 wedges. Can GolfWRX confirm?

I’m a big fan of Mizuno irons, hitting the JPX 900 Forged. Glad to see the Tour Forged making a mark out there.

    Jun 19, 2017 at 3:35 am

    Note to PXG:
The sexiest, sweetest & softest feeling, most accurate, the sweet spot the size of Barney the purple dinosaur’s belly irons are Mizunos. Nothing feels like a Mizuno. And You can’t beat that, Parsons.

    • Lee Shaw

      Jun 19, 2017 at 8:39 am

Surely PXG must be better they cost 3 times as much as a set of JPX900’s!

You like women who look like Barney the purple? Then you must be from Wisconsin

Mizuno, sure wish you would make those irons in LH

  13. Thomas Murphy

    Jun 19, 2017 at 12:07 am

Love the mixed bag that he has stuck with. Will have more people with money waving in his face all over. Those older wedges, the old FW…and the driving iron…yeah, Nike made some decent gear in the end. When you watch JT hit a short bulleye putter what 280+…it is the indian and it gets to be what they are comfortable with. But the age of those wedges…Titleist can’t like that with their study on wedge age.

    • H

      Jun 19, 2017 at 2:02 pm

What about Fleetwood? He nearly won with all them Nike equipment!

.. and what wins on Sunday sells on Monday …. as all the wannabes and gearheads rush down to their big box golf store to get that winning ¶enis driver and the deadly wedges … to put into their old bag ….lol

      Jun 19, 2017 at 3:14 am

      Not really. You talking shyyyte

      • O

        Jun 19, 2017 at 10:10 am

Hit a nerve? The golf stores have witnessed this lemming behavior and they are preparing now for the rush of gearheads buying those clubs, particularly the M-drivers.

        • H

          Jun 19, 2017 at 2:03 pm

Nah. You just talking shyyyte. If we didn’t have lemmings in the whole world, nobody would be rich or have anybody to go to war with

Absolutely LOVE this bag…If I had the $ I’d game the exact set up.

Furthermore this kid is ridiculously long…357Yd drive on 18 with a 3 WOOD..

    Let me repeat… A 3 WOOD.

I hate the fact that the TV commentators only talk about the yardage and not the conditions. Brooks Koepke is long but only Jamie Sadlowski is that long. The 18th was playing slightly down hill, down wind and the ball got a 70 yard run from landing on a down slope. No one talks about the conditions just the yardages. Makes it appear that these guys are all long drive champions. Tommy Fleetwood is not a huge hitter but he carried one 328 down the stretch. Context people! Got to look at the context!

      • H

        Jun 19, 2017 at 2:04 pm

How we supposed to sell anything with context?

        • Bill

          Jun 19, 2017 at 3:40 pm

M2s with built-in 300+ yards the bestest of them all

do you sleep with yer 3″-woodie?

Watching over the weekend looks like he has the 2017 M1 3 Wood in play and dropped the Nike Vapor Fly. Had it in at Masters too.

The putter appears to have zero loft, I have a Scotty Newport 2 that wound up with negative loft after a round trip on a major airline. Once I adjusted it back to 4 degrees I was deadly accurate again. Had to win back some of my money lost with a bent putter.
