FTF: The ugliest putters ever?

The ugly putter thread!

Sometimes, threads find their way into FTF for self-serving purposes. Simply, we want to see more ugly putters. User Smash Factors started this thread dedicated to hideous putting devices in 2012, and it really never got the attention it deserved…especially considering the monstrosity Smash Factor shared in his original post (pictured in the featured image).

See the putters and add more flatsticks only a mother could love.

Shock: The Hammer isn’t all it was cracked up to be

Boom, baby! One of the greatest golf infomercial products of all time, Jack Hamm’s Hammer, is the subject of this thread by rainkingjr, who bought the weapon with the expectation of using it in an annual work scramble (which is brilliant). That never happened, but he did eventually give Hamm’s masterpiece a few whacks. The results were, well, not great.

But he put forth this superb idea: “I was thinking it might be fun send them out into the WRX community on a play it once and pass it along basis for fun. Play one round with it then pass it on to the next guy or gal who wants to feel the power of The Hammer.”

Awesome. Offer your take on the Hammer and rainkingjr’s suggestion.

Stiff shafters: What’s your longest iron?

The aptly named Hit Em Good writes: “I know the huge bombers on WRX carry 3 and 2 irons all day long. I’d like to see what iron set up us average ss WRX’ers carry.”

Why Ludvig Aberg is my new favorite player – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing one of the new sensations in the world of golf – Ludvig Aberg. The 24-year-old finished solo second at the Masters a couple of weeks ago, and gained many plaudits, including from several WRXers.

One member, RoyalMustang, took to the forums to explain why Aberg is now their favorite player, saying:

“I loved the way the Ludvig was out there, having a great time, not taking himself or the situation too seriously. Even after the double at 11, he was like “well, that’s golf!” Loose and relaxed: that’s the way to play. It’s obvious he loves what he’s doing, he loves the big moments, and he loves being a part of it all.

Arnold Palmer was viewed that way. Just like Brooks Robinson was forever viewed as not just a great baseball player, but a great human being and friend to Baltimore.”
