Monday’s Photos from the 2016 U.S. Open

Published

on

GolfWRX is live from the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, one of the most grueling golf courses in America. The tournament marks Oakmont’s ninth U.S. Open and 12th major championship.

Oakmont, which is located in a northeast suburb of Pittsburgh, can play as long as 7,254 yards this week, depending on the USGA’s setup, and already boasts some of the longest rough and fastest greens some Tour players have ever seen. Whoever your pick is this week, make sure they’re known to keep in on the short grass.

The last time the U.S. Open was held at Oakmont was in 2007, when Angel Cabrera won with a score of 5-over par, one shot better than Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk. This year, Jason Day is the betting favorite at 7/1, with defending U.S. Open winner Jordan Spieth getting the second best odds at 8/1.

Enjoy our photos this week!

Bryson has some a few new irons in the bag. Last years CB models have been highly altered. Looks like 2 new long irons. Would love to see some other pics.

    ? Jordan’s 8/2 means 4/1, which is less than 7/1.

Photos from the 2022 PGA Show

Published

on

GolfWRX was on site for the golf business’s annual winter rite: the PGA Merchandise Show.

While the weather was less than cooperative for demo day, there were no such difficulties inside the Orange County Convention Center. This isn’t to say there weren’t significant figurative headwinds influencing this year’s Show, but those are widely discussed elsewhere. Our duty here was merely to document, and that is what we did to the tune of more than 1,500 photos, below.

Enjoy!

Interesting photos from the Mallorca Open

Published

on

Thanks to our friends at SMS_on_Tour for sending along some shots from last week’s Mallorca Open at Golf Santa Ponsa.

Denmark’s Jeff Winther topped a trio of players at 14 under (and some trouble in a bathroom) to win.

Let’s take a look at some interesting photos!

First up, Ashley Chesters with a Nike Vapor Fly 5-wood in the bag.

Twitter sensation Eddie Pepperell is one of the few pros we’ve spotted with a TaylorMade 300 Mini Driver in play.

Scott Hend’s wedges feature some fantastic stamping.

An original White Hot 2-Ball in the wild. The real OG!

Mitsubishi Kai’li (which officially launched today) spotted here.

Scott Hend with the pink paintfill on his Toulon Palm Beach.

Jazz Janewattanond’s wedge stamping never disappoints (even if often confounds)
