Get your passports ready, GolfWRX members.

This year, the 145th Open Championship pays a visit to Royal Troon on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland, and we’ve teamed up with Visit Scotland to take you and a friend on the buddy golf trip of a lifetime! Not only will you play Royal Troon in advance of this year’s Open Championship, you’ll also experience three additional links courses nearby, including Old Prestwick, the venue of the very first Open Championship in 1860.

In fact, two winners will be selected to bring a friend on this ultimate Scottish Golf Experience courtesy of Visit Scotland, GolfWRX and TaylorMade Golf.

It gets better. Not only will we fly you out to Scotland and put you up in a hotel, we’re also going to set you up with the latest TaylorMade gear (yes, that means 14 new clubs and a bag), as well as some of the latest adidas apparel and footwear so you’re ready to take on the dynamic Scottish weather and play some classic links golf!

On top of that, you will play 9 holes with the 2011 Open Champion, current European Ryder Cup Captain, and TaylorMade staff professional, Darren Clarke, and join him for a pint in the clubhouse afterward.

No HTTPS, collect Name, Address and DOB.
That’s very sloppy IT Sec stuff. if this DB is lost or sold there is enough info for identity theft.

This would be great to win. Darren is a great guy. I still remember his Open win and his friend Phil waiting at the end to congratulate him.

GolfWRX Staff: Are you SERIOUSLY telling me that a competition and a prize that is based in Scotland is only eligible to those who are resident in the USA? One of these days your prejudice towards all WRXers not in the US is going to come back on you.

Umm agreed. Absolutely gutted that those of us outside the US cant enter what should obviously be an international competition, from what pertains to be an international golf website. Disappointed guys!

Strongly agreed. This is not a magazine limited to domestic distribution in the United States – it’s a website. In 2016. Consistently alienating international readers will not end well. There are plenty of other excellent golf websites out there.

No offense guys but I doubt it’s them being specific about the US – Canada has some weird rules for winning things. I can remember since growing up hearing contests on the radio and tv & seeing them in magazines and newspapers… ALWAYS a disclaimer about it not being open to Canadian residents. Get on your legislators! …or move to the US where it’s more fun! 😉 jk

From the Forums: How are you liking TaylorMade’s Qi10 fairway woods?

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing TaylorMade’s new Qi10 fairway woods. WRXer ‘ace036’ plans on testing them in the next few weeks, saying: “from how they look from address and frame the ball is much more appealing to my eye versus my current Paradym fairway woods.” And our members have been sharing their positive feedback in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • Edwardsr: “I got fit into the Qi10 core model with Ventus TR Black 8X and it’s absolutely amazing for me.During the fitting with my 12-15 swings with it, it was the most efficient combo I’ve ever tested, tons of 1.48 smash and 3 or 4 1.49 smash (which I don’t think I’ve ever gotten on 3 wood on a launch monitor).”
  • MiloMalt: “No complaints and so far only high praise for my Qi10 Tour 3 and 5 wood. I’m getting great numbers and a nice penetrating ball flight with great height whereas with my old TSi2 4 wood it was spinny and ballooning and short because of that.”
  • courcy75: “The Qi10 Tour 3 wood I just put in play has been outstanding for me. Finally found something I like as much as the 07 burner tp.”
