Tuesday’s photos from the 2015 PGA Championship

Published

on

GolfWRX is live this week from the final major championship of the year, the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisc. The course, known for favoring big hitters because of its sheer length, will play as a par-72 measuring 7,501 yards according to the official scorecard.

Notable storylines

  • The PGA Championship returns to Whistling Straits for the third time. Vijay Singh won in 2004 and Martin Kaymer won in 2010. Both needed extra holes to seal a victory.
  • Dustin Johnson, currently ranked No. 8 in the Official World Golf Rankings, looks for redemption after infamously grounding his club in a bunker on hole No. 18 in the 2010 PGA Championship, costing him his still-elusive first major.
  • Rory McIlroy, the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, is scheduled to make his return after an ankle injury. He hasn’t played since the 2015 U.S. Open in June.
  • 22-year-old Jordan Spieth (No. 2) won the season’s first two majors, and has a chance to take over the world No. 1 spot this week.

Check out our photos below from the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits!

Maths were never his strong suit so going from yards to meters and back is quite challenging without writing them straight on the club!

125 on a full PW, what a n00b, everyone on here hits their drives 300 yards at a minimum and is hitting a PW from 160 yards, they must be much better than David Howell

Very interesting pics in Pt. 2 of yardages Sharpied on the back of David Howells Irons and wedges. I’ve never seen this. I’m guessing the 4 numbers on the wedges represent full, 3/4, 1/2, pitch swings or something to that effect.

…and possibly for a new caddie who doesn’t know Howells numbers yet?

That’s his mom’s phone number, so he can call for a ride after the round

Photos from the 2022 PGA Show

Published

GolfWRX was on site for the golf business’s annual winter rite: the PGA Merchandise Show.

While the weather was less than cooperative for demo day, there were no such difficulties inside the Orange County Convention Center. This isn’t to say there weren’t significant figurative headwinds influencing this year’s Show, but those are widely discussed elsewhere. Our duty here was merely to document, and that is what we did to the tune of more than 1,500 photos, below.

Interesting photos from the Mallorca Open

Published

on

Thanks to our friends at SMS_on_Tour for sending along some shots from last week’s Mallorca Open at Golf Santa Ponsa.

Denmark’s Jeff Winther topped a trio of players at 14 under (and some trouble in a bathroom) to win.

Let’s take a look at some interesting photos!

First up, Ashley Chesters with a Nike Vapor Fly 5-wood in the bag.

Twitter sensation Eddie Pepperell is one of the few pros we’ve spotted with a TaylorMade 300 Mini Driver in play.

Scott Hend’s wedges feature some fantastic stamping.

An original White Hot 2-Ball in the wild. The real OG!

Mitsubishi Kai’li (which officially launched today) spotted here.

Scott Hend with the pink paintfill on his Toulon Palm Beach.

Jazz Janewattanond’s wedge stamping never disappoints (even if often confounds)
