Parsons adds Anna Rawson to PXG Team

Published

on

Parsons Xtreme Golf signed Anna Rawson — Australian model and ex-Ladies European and LPGA Tour player — as a spokesperson for the company on Thursday.

[quote_box_center]“With just one swing you can feel and see that PXG clubs are unlike anything else — and you can bet that our marketing is going to make some noise and shake-up the industry too,” Parsons said in a press release. [/quote_box_center]

PXG founder Bob Parsons also founded GoDaddy.com, a domain registrar and website hosting company that gained popularity by showcasing beautiful women in TV commercials and advertisements. Rawson first partnered with Parsons as a “GoDaddy Girl” in 2009.

By signing her to the PXG team, it seems that Parsons may use similar tactics for his new business venture, as well.

Rawson, who has also appeared on Golf Digest’s video series “Golf’s Sexiest Shots,” will host a video series for Parsons featuring golf tips and tricks, which is scheduled to release this summer.

[quote_box_center]“PXG is reinventing how people think about their golf equipment,” Rawson said. “The company isn’t asking anyone to change the way they play — they’re simply inviting golfers to improve their game by expecting more from their clubs.”[/quote_box_center]

The PXG 0311 irons and wedges are currently available exclusively at Cool Clubs fitting locations, and sell for $300 per head.

How is this supposed to coax the average golfer to pull out his pocket book and spend that kinda scratch?

How about they spend less time on a fancy new spokeswoman, and more time on improving their name and showing us why those clubs are worth $300 a head. I just don’t see and I really don’t care how good looking she is and they haven’t even won on tour yet….

Because of marketing. When form becomes more important than function we are all in trouble. PXG isn’t trying to sell you a club, they’re selling you an attitude.

They have to be paying this site, how else, where else is this news. It is a nobody company that just signed a nobody golfer. Looks like they are going to try the go-daddy marketing.

Why do I keep seeing these ugly sticks on this site? Do they pay you guys to hype them? Heads with the screws all in them…disgusting. 300 bones per head for irons and wedges? Why? You can buy some butter soft Vegas, Miuras, Epons with that kinda scratch.

      She was/is a wannabe golfer.

Adding her as a spokesperson could very well result in additional sales of 1 maybe 2 sets of irons and maybe that many wedges.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
